“Amazing Spring Break”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Wonderful Spring Break trip for the whole family! We did not have much need to even leave the resort. The beach kept the kids busy and we felt they were safe. Our teenager loved the fact that he could roam the grounds and took advantage of the game room which included a pool table, ping pong, and video games. All of the restaurants were wonderful and something for all of us.

Everything about the FS Maui is First Class. We recently stayed here for 7 nights and everything was absolutely stellar from arrival to departure. Our experience was truly magnificent and the entire staff could not be more helpful, accommodating, and friendly. From the moment you step on the property, you are treated like royalty. It's very simple: At the FS Maui, you pay more because you get more and it's so worth it. It's actually hard to leave the resort to do other things because it's such a special place.

Everything at the FS Maui is done with a special touch and the majority of amenities are complimentary, including the kids day camp, "KFAS" (Kids For All Seasons), which my daughter absolutely loved. She went to camp almost every day and could not get enough. Again, the staff is amazing and they get to know the kids by name. It also gave me and my husband the opportunity to relax and explore the property, including the adults only serenity pool, which is beautiful.

And, if you're there on a holiday like we were for Easter, the resort celebration was truly amazing. It included a fully decorated ballroom where the kids gathered to decorate their own bags for a wonderful Easter egg hunt. The Easter Bunny made a special appearance at the egg hunt and was spotted onsite at other resort locations t/o the day for wonderful picture taking opportunities.

Everything at the FS Maui is outstanding with subtle, understated elegance. Our overall experience was superb and we are already planning our next trip back.

Of note, if you want a complimentary cabana at the pool or front row at the beach, yes, you have to get up early as everything is on a first come, first serve basis, but again, the pool and beach staff are super helpful, friendly, and accommodating, allowing 1 family member to reserve chairs. Honestly, if people would just use the chairs when they need them instead of reserving for the day, everyone would be accommodated, but people, unfortunately are people, for which the FS Maui cannot be responsible for. Quick tip, we would usually start at the beach in the morning (which is the best time for snorkeling and other activities because it's not so windy) and then go to the pool in the late afternoon when cabanas start to free up. Either way, we were there during Spring Break so I'd imagine the resort was booked to capacity, but it did not feel that way and we were always able to find a place to sit on the beach and at the pool with the help of the staff.

Room Tip: Book early for the best rates.

My family decided to forgo our usual spring break and try this resort. We chose the club level since my two teenagers are always hungry and the club included breakfast and other treats and drinks throughout the day. We were more than pleased with our choice. When we first arrived, we were quickly escorted to the club to be checked in by the club concierge, greeted with leis, cocktails and our room had gifts for the boys which were very considerate and appreciated. I must say that the staff treated us better than family. We hated to leave. The resort is beautiful and Spago's turned out to be our favorite restaurant for dinner. The other restaurants were good but a bit pricey. I would not recommend the four winds snorkel tour unless you enjoy being treated like cattle and like to wade through tons of people. Not to mention the lack of any guidance at all for snorkeling. Worst snorkel trip in my thirty years of travel. The zipline trip was worth going on. Enjoyed the crater. We will definitely return. BTW, we did see a couple of celebrities while staying there; it was quite a surprise.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon last October and we absolutely loved it. We are young travelers (both of us are 26) but were accompanied by plenty of other honeymooners at the resort that were a similar age. This is a pricey hotel, but in my opinion, well worth the money. Food is very expensive, but so tasty. Breakfast buffet was to die for but we couldn't spend 45$ per person per day on it so we went to the local Walmart and picked up cereal and milk and some snacks (Mind you that is like the walk-of-shame coming into a Four Seasons with Walmart bags, but who cares!) The staff is AMAZING, we didn't run into one problem our entire 10 days! Rooms are always spotless, views are breath-taking at every angle, and the beach..... best beach in Hawaii for sure. You can snorkel right from the beach at the resort and see TONS of fish and sea turtles and even rays! OK, you get the hint. IF you can afford this, do it. You will not regret it!!!!

Room Tip: Upgrades are possible if you tell them you're on a honeymoon at the desk but sometimes rooms are...

If you are going to do Maui and do it right, you do it here. You get lei'ed as soon as you walk into the lobby. The first view of the resort is breathtaking. Whenever you look inside the hotel there is a beautiful tropical floral arrangement to remind you that you are in paradise. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are cavernous. They surprised us with sweet treats and sweet notes for our girls getaway for my friend's 40th.

Service:
The service is impeccable (the staff make you feel like you really are special) and literally wait on you hand and foot. You never have the leave the resort as you can rotate your day throughout the property from the many pools, sunning hideaways areas, and the beach. Staff is always there to set up your area with towels, water and menu needs. Throughout the day they bring snacks like pineapple popsicles, brownie bites, and mini smoothies. They even come by to clean your sunglasses. They have a selection of free fitness activities (beach yoga, pool aerobics, etc) to make you feel less guilty about all the great food and drinks you are enjoying on the vacation. If you need to leave paradise, they have free resort shuttle (which is a car service) to take you to the other resorts in Wailea.

Food:
Go to Ferraro's for the outdoor sunset and incredible views. Ask about their seasonal specials, when we went it was half off wine bottles after 8. It's very romantic in the evening so we would recommend if you are needing to impress early on in the vacation. Breakfast buffet at Duo's is amazing and delicious. Because you are on vacation, we would recommend the full buffet with the mimosas but to go at the end of your visit so your bikini will fit. There is isn't really a "happy hour" but the entertainment at the Lobby Lounge is the highest quality and all the cocktails are unique and tasty. We recommend your last supper at Spagos; service amazing, food is spectacular and the elevated views are the best in the island.

The Four Seasons at Wailea is on the top of people's lists because it truly is excellent. From the moment you arrive in the driveway, to the farewell at the end of the stay, the hotel's staff and facilities are above and beyond pleasing. The setting is drop dead beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, the rooms large, and the activiities abundant. Kids are right at home in the pool, on the beach, and at the shaved ice stand. Families can rent snorkel gear, a paddle board, try scuba, hit tennis balls, or just people watch by the pool. Might even see a celebrity or two -- we did. Poolside spa services are even better than the indoor spa experience -- get pampered and feel the outdoors; won't miss any family time either. Even the game room is well equipped for late afternoon or after dinner play (ping pong, pool, etc) time. A hospitality suite is available for mainland arrivals waiting to check in or departing after check out. So, keep your swim gear on top of your bag and don't waste a minute inside. This is a Four Seasons resort that sets the standard. Once you arrive, you'll want to stay on site, despite the best laid plans to explore the island. When you inevitably venture off property, you'll be happy to arrive back to a cool towel, beverage, and the light breeze in the lobby. Worth every penny and likely to return, again.
