“A taste of paradise”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

We have been to the Four Seasons Wailea twice in the past 3 years. It's an extraordinary property, beautiful grounds and pool area, delicious food whether in the restaurants, poolside or room service, comfortable rooms and attentive staff. The only negative I can say is that both times (most recently Nov.2012) halfway thru our stay, the families with young children arrived and the resort turned into a Holiday Inn type atmosphere. There is only 1 small adult pool that is beautiful but if you aren't out there at 0700 you have no chance of getting a chair. There is a kids only pool but unfortunately most families apparently want to be at the main pool, and it has been taken over by kids yelling, splashing, jumping into the pool and throwing footballs, etc. despite the signs that prohibit these activities. There is also a jacuzzi on each end of the pool that says unaccompanied children are not allowed in without their parents yet it is like a small sandbox atmosphere with kids (no parents) hanging from every inch of the area. We can't even enjoy the pool when this is the situation. My husband and I talked to the pool staff about enforcing the posted rules regarding children and although they said they would, they didn't. We also noticed the restaurants filled up with kids running around and playing games on their IPads with the volume turned up loud. For the price you pay to stay at this excellent hotel, I wish they would provide separate areas for families with out of control kids because it really takes away from what should be a peaceful and serene setting to relax and enjoy. It's a shame so many parents don't teach their children how to behave in a luxury hotel setting.

I have had the fortunate opportunity to continue staying every year for at least two weeks and highly recommend every aspect of the resort, including golf, concierge service, restaurants (not limited to the hotel), and water activities.

Room Tip: Stay on the club level for the ultimate experience in luxury and concierge attentiveness.

This is by far the best hotel you can stay it in all of Hawaii, and probably in the world. The service here, is unmatched. The attention to detail, location, staff, ammenities, services, and the feeling of just being lost in vacation all come together in a sort of perfection at this resort. If you come to Maui, this is the place to stay. We have stayed here many times and are never disappointed. We have stayed at many hotels in and out of Hawaii and nothing comes close to this resort in all-around quality and enjoyment.

Room Tip: It really doesn't matter, all of the rooms are awesome.

FS in Maui is beyond words. From the minute you enter the hotel you are made to feel like a VIP. At all times you are addressed by your name, whether by the pool, beach or restaurants.

Grounds are immaculate and beautiful. Great pool for kids with a waterslide There's nothing that the staff wil not do for you. Portacot by the pool or at the beach - done. Swimming nappies always available at the pool along with sunscreen. Loved the all day treats they provide for the guests poolside. Adults infinity pool is beyond words!!

Rooms are gorgeous and spacious with luxurious large bathrooms

Snorkel by the beach has great sandwiches, salads and snacks at very reasonable prices. Don't waste your time by going to Monkey Pod! Ferroroes at the FS is a great restaurant but just book ahead

If FS fits your budget then do not hesitate to stay here. You will be in heaven for the duration of your stay.

The four seasons at Maui is truly the best hotel on the island. You don't need to take my word for it but every local I met before I reached the hotel told me that we were in for a treat.

From the moment we got there... The valet service to the bell boys as well as the front desk checking us in... All the staff was extremely courteous and went out of their way to see if anything was needed.

The rooms are beautiful with all required amenities one could want. The property floored us as the whole place is kept in such pristine condition.

I will surely be returning here at some point in the bear future to relive the unforgettable experience.

My wife & I spent a week there last September and expected nothing but the best and they delivered! Awesome!!!!! What can I say other than get down to the serenity pool early and stake out your spot. They'll hold it for you while you go back to your room, shower, have breakfast and then lay out. You're wife will be extremely happy ...... Trust me!
When we decided to take a road trip to see the sunrise on top of the volcano, (4:45am) our car was waiting for us out front with hot coffee, blankets, Danish rolls & flashlight. That's service!!!
We want everyone to know that we'll most certainly be back in the future. JimC.

Superb lobby entrance with overall subtle design elements, with dramatic high ceilings and ocean vistas welcoming you the minute you step from your car. Art works are impressive, as is the lighting scheme, featuring oversized iron wall sconces with seeded glass and rustic chandeliers, sage green shutter panels with bronze hardware and limestone floors. A touch of British West Indies in feeling, low key as with most FS Resorts, until you gaze upon the unbeatable beauty of the Maui coast and sunsets surrounding public spaces. Don't miss the walking path between the Four Seasons and Fairmount--this must be a daily event for the sunset.

Without a doubt the best hotel in the area – by a mile – we toured the other two main/large adjacent properties, the Grand Wailea and The Fairmount, neither of which can come close, really no comparison at all. We had an ocean front room and though it goes without saying that the view was super, the room was otherwise unremarkable, albeit a decent size with a nice large bathroom and lanai. The room featured ample closet space, comfortable beds and was relatively quiet, but not crazy luxurious or anything.

The hotel has a very nice gym, game room, spa, yoga and aerobic classes, and appears to be a very popular family hotel, though not to the point of negatively impacting the other guests. There are three pools, the main large one with center fountain, a kid’s pool, and the relatively new, and awesome, Serenity (infinity) pool with dedicated bar area and private cabanas (and no kids or teens).

There is a beautiful powder-sand beach with immediate/easy access, with all the expected activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, beach-refresher dives and paddle boarding. The hotel features a few good shops and some impressive restaurants, such as Spago (tasty), though one casual “normal” priced venue would be appreciated—i.e. even fish tacos and a quesadilla with a couple of poolside cocktails will run you close to $100.00 for two, and, while not shocking considering the venue, it would still be nice to have a good casual dining choice on site.

Service overall was very friendly and helpful, as you would expect. The Shops at Wailea are nearby and the hotel offers complimentary transportation to this and other nearby venues. Some of the common areas need minor refurbishment, like public bathroom interior doors, molding, hardware, wall covering, common area carpet in some locations, and a few other small things (mostly unnoticeable by “normal people”). Overall the Four Seasons Maui is a dramatic and lovely property in a stunningly beautiful location with excellent service that you won’t soon forget.

Room Tip: it's always a good idea to preview room first, but anything with a clear view of the ocean is de...
