This is an amazing hotel! The service and decor is second to none.

It is not on our usual itinerary to stay at a place as opulent and expensive as this, but it was something we will never forget.

Things that we enjoyed:
*Atmosphere- everything is gorgeous and clean
*Service is impeccable
*upgraded room for our honeymoon
*kindness of staff members
*a fancy sunset dinner at Ferraro's
*swim-up bar at Serenity pool
*people watching

Things that we did while on the island:
*scuba dived
*sunrise at Haleakala
*Road to Hana
*a night out in downtown Lahaina

Things that we wished we would have done:
*actually stayed at the hotel to enjoy it more!
*left the hotel to go eat elsewhere, more often

Things that we didn't enjoy
*how expensive everything was
*the amount of tipping that goes with this service...when you're used to carrying your own luggage and parking your own car, you're just not used to tipping everyone all the time
*having to be up at before 7am to secure a spot at the Serenity pool (the adult pool 21 and up only)

If you want a decadent and expensive experience, and want to rub elbows with people with big sunglasses and expensive bags, go here. You will love it here! You will be treated like royalty and you can easily spend days by the pools or on the beach.

If you want a laid back atmosphere, or plan on sight-seeing on the island and spending very little time at the hotel, don't stay here...unless you just like to spend money. You will kick yourself that you stayed at this gorgeous and amazing hotel and didn't get to enjoy any time there.

If we could have done this over again, we would have stayed a lower-key place for the days we spent traveling around the island all day and spent two our three nights at this hotel where all we would do is hang out by the pool or beach or enjoy fancy meals at night.

Do the breakfast buffet at least once, as it is very tasty! Also, our two favorite people were bar tenders Danny (at the Serenity pool) and Joseph (Ferraro's.) Also, my husband had a great diving experience with one of the on-site dive insturctors, Phil.

Overall, we can only say wonderful things about the hotel. If this is not your usual accomodation, make sure you make time just to stay at the hotel and enjoy it...just consider leaving for a few meals to eat locally, as it will save you a ton of money!

Happy travels!

Stayed 7 nights with 4 and 7 year old kids. Impeccable service, surprisingly good value if consider kids club free (but kids need to be over 5 else need to hire a babysitter), beautiful rooms, great restaurants. Only challenge was getting up at 6:30am to reserve good spot at adults only pool but then discovered this was the best time on island to be up and abut anyway. Will definitely be back.

Great service. Lovely hotel. Room was right at the back of the hotel, overlooking the golf green, which was not ideal but the staff and service more than made up for it.

We were booked at the Grand Wailea (GW) next door and after 1 night switched to this property. It honestly was night and day and our experience was amazing. The service at this hotel was over the top and the staff anticipated our every need. In the mornings we would go on a long walk and when we would arrive back to the front of the hotel the bellman would greet us with a cold towel and water. While at the adult pool (which is incredible) they staff would come around hourly with fresh lemonade, fruit, aloe vera and ice water. Most people think this is fluff and your paying extra for all of this but our room rate at the 4Seasonas was $85 less per night than at the GWailea.
The size and accessibility of the property was great and super manageable and you could get around this property very quickly and easily. The rooms were awesome and the beds were impossible to get out of in the morning and included a "turn down" service with fresh towels, slippers and little treats every night. We ended up eating at all of the restaurants and nothing but good things to say.
When planning my trip I bounced back and forth from the 4Seasons to the GW and ended up picking the wrong hotel. I wish I would have know what I know now prior to booking. Luckily we were able to get out of our GW reservation without a penalty and ended up extending our trip from 8 days to 12 days.
The only negatives I could find about this property would be for breakfast you really had only 1 option and it was kind of pricey and the chairs at the adult pool would be booked by the early am. What we did was put our name on the list for chairs and head to the beach and the staff would call our cell phone when our spot opened up.
I would recommend this property to anyone that wants to be treated like royalty. The hotel is child friendly but if you have a large family and want to keep the kids busy I would also check out the GW. Hope this helps.

I had my wedding at the Four Seasons Resort in Maui and we had about 75 guests and ended up spending about $75k just on the wedding alone, that a grand a head, yet they did not upgrade our room, in fact, some of our guests that were staying at the resort had a bigger room than ours! We got a cabana at the serenity pool and were almost shooed out of there because some members of our party were having a conversation. Overall, I felt like we were constantly being ragged and nagged on by the staff. I do not think I will go back here.

My wife and I and our two boys, ages 6 and 2, felt right at home in a place nothing like our home. The hotel is impeccably run, luxurious at every turn, but there's a homey quality to its five-star excellence. The service is gracious and friendly. We stayed ten days and were happy the whole time.

We had a fantastic time there. There is so much to do at or near the resort. The staff does everything possible to ensure you have a great stay. They said the hotel was completely sold out, yet there was still chairs available at the pools, although the prime locations were taken early (overlooking the ocean, and at the serenity pool). Although it is expensive, we felt like we did get a good value for the money spent. Highly recommend Ferraro's, if you are in the Wailea area.
