Went there for our honeymoon and really the first getaway ever with just the two of us. (our trips normally comprised of lots of family & of course lots of crazy fun) But seeing that it is our honeymoon, we decided maybe it would be best to go by ourselves...

We stayed there for almost a week and everyday they made us feel like royalty. Staff there were so good to us. We arranged a lot of our activities last minute and they took care of everything for us. (of course you shouldn't wait til last minute) Word of advice, plan ahead and especially make reservations for the Luaus, they get booked up FAST! There are a lot of activities to do there...
*snorkeling
*ziplining
*LUAUS!!
*bike riding down a scary-a** mountain (with hairpin roads that dont have any railings to keep you from falling over) after seeing an amazing sunrise
*sight-seeing...rent a car (yes the hotel will also arrange this for you)

still by far the best trip and stay I've had.

By the way I had the partial ocean view room and it was still nice. But if you really dont want to spend the extra money, just ask yourself are you really going to be in the room that much to enjoy the view. If not, spend the money on the real site seeing when you're actually outside enjoying Maui.

Any guest of the Four Seasons collection has a rather high set of expectations. The fact is, the Four Seasons sets the benchmark for all others, and the location in Wailea will not disappoint. While the main focus here is relaxed luxury, you won't find too many children running around the grounds. That's what next door is for. I stayed in a 1-bedroom ocean view suite, which had a great open layout, large bathrooms, and a wonderful lanai. The food was as expected, rich in flavor and served by absolute professionals. While I did rank the hotel Excellent, because anything less would be truly a lie, I was not 100% thrilled by the simplistic nature of resort. I do like a bit more going-ons. I'm not talking Panama City Spring Break of Senior year, but a little more activity wouldn't hurt. The beach is serene, the waters warm, and Wailea really is just tops when it comes to oceanside Maui. This hotel should definitely be on your short list (very short list)

Room Tip: Spend some time in Lahaina! Amazing town!

This was roughly our 7th or 8th stay at this wonderful resort--it's become an annual destination. Despite the islands' economic slowdown, the Four Seasons Maui just doesn't fail to impress. Between the spotless property, beautiful room, attentive and eager-to-please staff (who remembers you by name from previous visits), generally excellent food and one of the best beaches in Hawaii, there's little reason to leave the property. Yes, it's expensive, the food, wine and spa at times outrageously so (not to mention $16/day for high speed Internet?!), but the quality of the experience makes it worth every penny. The only ding (besides the usurious charges for Internet access)--and it's a small one--is occasional housekeeping issues, but they are always addressed personally, promptly and courteously. The best hotel property on Maui--don't miss it!

There are not enough words in the English language to describe the Four Seasons Maui. Their reputation as the best resort in Maui is well deserved. They get everything right - from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The staff is finely attuned to the needs of their guests - they anticipate and deliver and they make it look so effortless. The service is so far beyond the rest that it makes the expense totally worth it. I like the fact that so many of their services are bundled into the price (kids club, cabanas, snorkel equipment, scuba lesson, outrigger program, fitness and yoga classes) -- I'm probably paying more than going ala carte, but it's better than feeling nickeled and dimed. Weilea is the perfect location on Maui - the weather is superb and the sunsets will break your heart, every single time. The most important thing for us was that we felt we were truly on vacation. This is was our first time at this Four Seasons - you can bet we will be returning!

It's hard for a hotel to live up to expectations some times. We had read that Four Seasons Wailea was the top rated resort in the entire United States on some lists. It did not disappoint us. The service, as always with Four Seasons, was fabulous. It was hard to leave the resort and do island activities. We just wanted to lie around on their beach and by their pools and soak up the service. The concierge was very helpful with my requests to make special arrangements for an anniversary celebration. They also tipped off the front desk that we were there for a 10th anniversary and we got an upgrade from Garden View to Ocean View Deluxe which is highly appreciated. I agree with other reviews that the Ocean View/Partial Ocean View rooms might not be worth the premium. I'm not complaining because I got a free upgrade, but if I had paid for the Ocean View, I might have been unhappy with the angled view we had. The rooms have refrigerators so you can stock them yourselves or order certain things to be stocked. Poolside drinks were reasonably price as far as 5 star resorts go ($10-$14 cocktails/wine; $6-7 beer). The adult infinity pool is a nice option, but there is often a wait list to get seats there. We were just as happy at the regular pool though. Not a lot of kids the week we were there. The practice, at both pools, of them finding chairs for you and then holding them for you all day (as long as you don’t leave them for > 1hr) was a double edged sword. It was nice to have that security if you got good chairs. There are a lot of people who seem to abuse it though and stretch that 1 hr policy. We saw some great spots go unused for a long time because someone was “using” them. I also have to applaud the valets. If you called down and gave even a couple minutes notice, you never had to wait for your car. We had a convertible and they even took our top down/up requests and had the car ready!
