The views at sunrise and sunset are spectacular. This is the main avenue to walk between the Wailea resorts/beaches.

The path gets a little busy as the day progresses so if you're interested in running or fast paced walking it would be best to go early morning.

We stayed in South Kihei and loved taking a morning walk if the ocean was too rough for swimming because of high winds. When it is crowded, you can not walk quickly, but the enjoyment of the walk is to stroll and admire the ocean view and beaches. When it is hot, take water. There is a public washroom along the way. We usually walked the beach path and stopped for coffee at the shopping mall (more reasonable and better coffee than the hotel beach front places). We liked walking back in front of the hotels and golf courses for a bit of shade and less crowds.

Typically crowded in mornings, often with some joggers who choose to ignore the signage that joggers should give way/yield to all others. Be alert and when you want to look for whales or admire the view, just be courteous and step to the side of the pathway.

This path reaches from the Andaz in the north to the Fairmont in the south of the Wailea resorts. Although it gets fairly crowded with runners, baby strollers and walkers, it's a great way to get some decent exercise along the beach. Great views. It's not truly flat but undulates but that adds to the interest of the path.
