My wife and I ate at Ferraro's on the last night of our honeymoon in Maui. We are all about great food and don't mind paying for it if the quality is there. Saying this, dinner here will be pricey and I have eaten at several better restaurants in Kauai that are better and cheaper. However the restaurant is located in the Four Seasons so it's bound to be overpriced. I booked our table 24 hours before and was asked by the hostess if it was a special occasion. We arrived slightly early to catch the sun set and were seated early. Our table was in a decent location. The view off Wailea beach and the ocean is wonderful. The atmosphere is dark and lit by candle light and tiki torches only. It is very romantic and most of the customers are couples with a few scattered families and larger groups. Our waitress was very attentive through the whole experience. We were given fresh rustic bread with olive oil and red salt. We the ordered cocktails off an IPad which I thought was a nice modern touch and helpful as it was so dark. Both our drink were wonderful. Next we shared a mixed meat, cheese and antipasti platter. The cured meats, cheese and olive combination was very tasty. I think they could have been a bit more generous on the cheese portions. Three very small pieces of the goat cheese will set you back $9. Next my wife ordered a glass of Prosecco and I ordered a glass of Chardonnay. Both were great. My wife had the saffron crusted half lobster and the Ferraro signature salad. I had the sea bass with lobster ragu. The portion size were perfect but I can see some larger eaters out there being upset about this. They staff were great. They knew when to ask us if we wanted anything else, when to remove our plates and most importantly when to leave us alone! As a nice gesture two dark chocolates with a "Congratulations" white chocolate banner was brought out in honor of our recent marriage. Not a big deal but appreciated. We finished the meal with sharing the chocolate molten cake. Yum! The food and service was excellent. The ambience is amazing. The scenery, the lighting and the musician duo playing the violin and guitar 15 feet from our table at a non-obtrusive volume made for a perfect and romantic evening.
