We came here at the recommendation of our cocktail waitress at the hotel pool. She highly recommended it and said it would be our favorite so far. First of all it took a bit of searching to find the place and then by the time we found parking and walked down apparently they had quit serving food over an hour before closing. The hostess was nice and said she would go check with the kitchen though to see if they would still make us something. As we were waiting the bartender at the bar (which is where we would have to sit to eat) VERY LOUDLY started talking to the only two customers there about how RUDE it is to come to a restaurant close to closing and expect to be served and on and on and ONNNN about how RUDE what we had just done was. First of all we didn't ask the kind hostess to go ask to serve us we had simply asked where else was still opened to get dinner and second of all if it was that big of a problem we weren't going to sit and eat our dinner on our honeymoon at a bar with such a grumpy bartender. The place was empty and you would think that they would rather make some money instead of scare people off and have them tell everyone how bad the place is.

We decided to just leave since he had such attitude about us and the hostess came back and hollered at us asking where we were going and let us know that the kitchen said it wouldn't be a problem to serve us. I simply told her that the bartender let us know that it is NOT acceptable for us to come to a place within an hour of closing and his true feelings and that we didn't feel they need our business. Then the bartender had the guts to act like he hadn't directed it at us when the hostess asked him what he said! Clearly he makes enough money he doesn't need any more tips from us! We will NOT EVER come here after being so rudely treated. Maybe they need to change their hours online because had we known they were closing so soon or that they would quit serving food at a certain time we wouldn't have SO RUDELY gone there. And keep in mind it's not like we asked if they would serve us. Just incredible! Someone needs to give this place a lesson in customer service!!! We went up the road a bit and found a wonderful place who was more than willing to accept our business and our money! We also told our cocktail waitress to not recommend this place again after how rude they were to us.

Can't beat Joe's ribs. While not a great view (sits on the Wailea Tennis Club) the food and service is fantastic! Can me a nice change from fish. Also reasonably priced and casual.

Staying in Wailea can be a challenge to find a good restaurant at a reasonable price. Most of the restaurants in this area are $$$$$ and tied to the ritzy hotels that abound. We tried Joe's, since it's independent, and liked it enough to come back. We ate a seafood special the first night, which was quite tasty but expensive. We noticed most of the locals were going for the meatloaf and ribs, so we tried that the second time around. Great choice! The restaurant is a bit difficult to get find and parking is remote with a shuttle service, but the views can be nice, the service was above par, and the ambiance was just right for romantic Maui evenings.

Dinner was delish! The meatloaf was the ultimate comfort food but a manageable portion, enough for lunch the next day. The ribs and fries were great. The wait staff was so attentive, I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is a keeper for our return trips to Maui.

This gem is tucked away and a bit difficult to find. It is worth the hunt. We were a party of four and had prime rib, meatloaf and two of us had the pumpkin seed crusted mahi mahi. The food was great! The meatloaf came out a bit cool and our waiter brought out another piece. Drinks were yummy--mai tai, martini, sangria. Casual feel--it overlooks a tennis club. They seemed to be understaffed when we were there. Our waiter was hopping the entire night! We will go back.
