Good food and service located at the Wailea Tennis Club. We liked the fact we could play tennis late in the afternoon and then go upstairs dressed in our tennis clothes and take advantage of their 2 for 1 special between the hours of 5:30 and 6:30 while enjoying a drink from the bar.

First off, I arrived after dark and had a difficult time actually finding the restaurant. I turned off the road into the complex, then wound up in what seemed like a hotel parking lot. I finally had to ask a security guard, who pointed to an unmarked parking lot.

The food itself was pretty good. I started with the tomato mozzarella salad with pesto, which was excellent. The ribs were only okay, though. Same with the service.

We spent a lovely month on Maui along with one of our daughters and son-in-law. We ate a good number of meals out including breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had some excellent meals and some so-so, but the meal and evening that we all enjoyed the most was at Joe's. The restaurant is located above the Wailea Tennis Club with parking in a lot off the street. It's a bit of a walk down to the restaurant, including many stairs, but a golf cart will appear at the lot every few minutes to take you down the easy way. The restaurant is attractive, and sunset views can be had from tables along the west side. I would call the menu selections pretty much comfort food. Two of our group ordered steaks which were perfectly prepared as ordered. The only problem was they were 14 oz. steaks, and half of them were taken home. The other two, believe it or not, ordered meat loaf, and it was delicious. It was served with barbeque sauce which, the waiter admitted, was the same as that served at one of Bev Gannon's other Maui restaurants, Haliimaile General store, on their ribs. But our waiter said it was better at Joe's. There are, of course, many other menu selections, not just meat and potatoes. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was a real pro and added a great deal to our enjoyment of the evening. The drinks were an honest pour and the wine was excellent. A pleasant surprise was that we didn't know that if you ordered before 6:30 P.M. it was 2 for 1 time! Doubt that they do this all year around, but it was off season (October) and I would guess that is the reason. A perfect spot for that special evening, and good food at any time.l

We had the crab dip which was good for starts. We followed with the pork chops with the Portuguese sausage stuffing. It was delicious and very well prepared. The drinks were excellent, especially the margaritas, although small. Prices were expensive, and the restaurant sits between a golf course and above tennis courts, so the atmosphere is very casual. You have to park above the restaurant and a golf cart picks you up and delivers you to the restaurant. It's kind of fun and quaint. Overall, good experience, with great service and yummy food. Just don't expect any less than $100.00 for two people with drinks and an appetizer.
