“Great for swimming and snorkleing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

A relatively small beach but sandy and a soft sand bottom in the ocean make it great for swimming and body surfing and lined with reefs and rock formations on each side that make for excellent snorkeling. My son-in-law came face to face with a sea lion and swam with many sea turtles and was able to take some amazing pix with his underwater camera.

“Great snorkel spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013

Considered one of the best snorkel spots on Maui, the reef is great and easy to access. One day I saw two turtles; last year I saw many turtles daily on the nearby beach in front of the Four Seasons. Easy access from the Andaz, where we stayed.

“Awesome snorkelling experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

You should go in the morning when there is little or no wind. Beautiful clear water with a huge abundance of fish. Access is easy with plenty of parking. Safe and sheltered it is a must and the reviews speak volumes.

“Great beach, nice facilities”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2013

Went here to go snorkeling. After 10 minutes the lifeguard from the next beach over came by to get everyone out of the water and close the beach - shark attack! So that was a bummer (even more so for the poor lady bit by the shark). That being said, it's a lovely little beach with what looks like brand new restrooms and showers. Just outside the Andaz Hotel (watch for the sign for beach access - it's kind of small off the main drag there and you can miss it). The parking is more plentiful than some other snorkel sites (Napili, Kapalua) and the beach wasn't crowded at all.

“Best Beach for Snorkeling and Soaking Up the Sun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

This is my favorite beach to go to with my True Love! It's just out of range of the resort crowd. The showers and bathrooms are just a few steps away. The beach is always clean and rarely so crowded that we feel packed in. The snorkeling is great! The first time I dove there I saw two sea turtles. For those who complain about not seeing anything, this isn't a zoo! Keep diving! Nature will show itself when it's ready. Every time I dive there it's different. Explore the rock formations and spend some time just drifting and watching. There are several great beaches in Wailea, but Ulua is always the one we come back to.
