“Just the right amount of sea. sun, surf, and solitude.”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

Turtles, elbow room, and proximity to the hotel - where we easily picked up a towel... and could have had an umbrella....

Perfect. Even the rocks were interesting.

“Gorgeous water and sand!”
Reviewed May 22, 2014 via mobile

I got fried the day we spent at Wailea but it was worth it! The water is good for snorkeling, though we didn't see anything too exciting, and boogie boarding. The sand is unlike some of the other Hawaiian beaches. It was fine and powdery. There are some shops nearby in case you need to grab water or other essentials or even a Louis Vitton bag!

“Wailea is all around gorgeous”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

We stayed at the Marriott in Waliea, the walk to the beach was further than one would like, but it is the most beautiful walk you could take :) Hawaii is just gorgeous all around, Waliea beach didn't really stand out in any particular way. This is the beach that all of the hotels use in Waliea, so it can be a bit overcrowded. I would make the drive down to big beach and little beach :)

“Too long”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

Offered by Norwegian Cruise Line, Pride of America sailing around HI islands.
The beach is very, very nice and food and drink is available for cash. Beach chairs, not lounge chairs, are free and umbrellas are available for a fee. There is a reef for snorkeling and there are quite a few fish - I highly recommend at least a half wet suit.
The only problem my wife and I agreed upon is that 5 hrs on the beach is far too long. We got really bored and signed up to take the outrigger offered - a little too expensive but fun.

“Our Youth”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

Saw and smelled more pot on the beach than what you'd find in Denver the opening day when marijuana was legalized. Also saw numerous pot heads, 1960 burnouts and even a couple making their own bathroom behind a tree-nice. Where were the cops? Such beautiful water and yet such debauchery. What is our country becoming??
