Emerald excellent. Blue really stinks - dated, unkept facilities, very public-links type surroundings and service. My local muni is way better. A poor value even at the discount relative to gold and emerald.

this was the 3rd course we played while on vacation (plantation then emerald and then gold). used Golfnow specials for tee time.

just like emerald, this course was in super shape. greens were smooth and rolled well.

This course was far more difficult than emerald as there seemed to be more greenside bunkering and far more uphill approach shots. Course requires some forced carries over lava and I did not think that in general there was as much ocean view. I could have used some local knowledge on a few of the holes where I underclubbed going uphill and over clubbed off of the tee a couple of times. There were some tips on the cart GPS and they helped a bit. seemed like an odd day as the wind was changing directions and the course layout is geared towards the prevailing winds. Lends to some really long into-the-wind par 4's when the design likely was moving in the other direction on those holes.

Gave this a rating of 4 as my wife did not like it as much as she liked emerald. There is not much run-up to the greens due to the elevated greens on nearly every hole. This is a much less enjoyable course for higher handicap golfers than emerald.

staff was great. we had an issue with the golfnow tee time (I tried to add my wife late to an existing reservation) and it took about 5 minutes to resolve with a quick phone call. professionally handled where they did not have to bend their rules and neither did I. again, played here 2x using golfnow both times and i was made to feel like i was a member for 10 years.

will come back here for sure next time we are in Wailea

We played the Emerald Course in Wailea last week and it is one of the most beautiful golf courses we've ever played. It's a tough course with lots of bunkers in the fairways, but still a lot of fun to play. Lots of scenic views from many holes. The staff treat you like an important patron. We'll play there again.

would prefer to not used a cart-like to walk.greens in good condition-did not like people cleaning off clubs after play-felt no choice but to have this service for yet more money/tips.

Even though it is not cheap and not easy to find discount tee times, this place is an example of you get what you pay for. Great courses (both Emerald and Gold are great), immaculate maintenance, great views, etc. You must splurge at least once to play here. There is no better place to golf on Maui.
