“Experience the divine!”
Reviewed March 30, 2011

Loved this beach! The water was crystal clear, warm, and inviting.Clothing is optional but one can leave something on.Lots of interesting people.People with families, straight couples, gay couples, people who looked like they live on the beach, friends, loners, and everything inbetween.Just take your chair, set yourself down, read a book, listen to music, strike up a conversation,or just soak in the atmosphere and the people.Great way to spend the day.

“Nude beach important when selecting a destination”
Reviewed March 25, 2011

It was my wife's turn to plan our vacation this year and she said it was time we went to Hawaii. The majority of our friends recommended Maui and Kihei in particular. The first thing my wife said after making the decision to go there was "I suppose that you have already checked to see if there is a nude beach". I told her it was called Little Beach and would be reasonably close to where we would be staying.
We only managed to get there four times because of some rainy weather and participation in other activities. It was everything trip reports said it would be. A bit of a hike in but not bad. I am 71 and my wife is 69. A beautiful soft sand beach and warm water. At times the surf can be a little challenging to someone who is not comfortable in the water. A great mix of people from young to old, all shapes and sizes, locals, experienced nudists and newbies. You can recognize a newbie not just from tan lines but because they wear a swim suit to a nude beach and they are very discrete when removing their swim suit. There are a few gawkers who can be recognized by the fact that they are enjoying the surf and the sand but they never remove their swim suit. The availability of this nude beach makes Maui high on the list for a return visit.

“Fantastic beach - beautiful place (bathing suit id optional)”
Reviewed December 1, 2010

Little Beach is absolutely a must when you are in Maui - therefore you should be aware that bathing suit is optional only on that beach - it's a great place for everyone - cool people and very pleasant atmosphere
Every sunday there is a big beach party with lots of fun - you also have option of some shade under the trees.
The parking lots are not too far - you just have to cross the big beach and go to the very right end - the only barrier could be the claiming over a rock to reach the little beach - therefore the efforts are worth it.

“A great place to go au naturel”
Reviewed October 29, 2010

My wife and I had never been to a clothing optional beach before, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's a bit of a climb but well worth it. As other reviewers have noted, you can wear as little or as much as you want. Everybody is very civilized, there are no gawkers and people do mind their own business. Do remember to bring plenty of sunscreen and drinking water. We came back for several days and plan to spend a lot of time here during our Hawaiian vacation next year. Give it a try!!

“Nice beach, great that it's c/o but not far or hard to get to”
Reviewed September 18, 2010

Really nice, and has a bit of shade. One of the very few places you can enjoy taking it all off, and not having to worry about it. It's fairly close to the parking area, but the climb over the big rock to get there may make it inaccessible to some.

Unfortunately it is comparatively little, so I don't like telling lots of folks about it, but the opposite problem is that the nudity is allowed because enough people use it that way. There are no lifeguards here either, so the "safety in numbers" factor might be seen as good. Not as good a snorkelling area as Big Beach, but still OK.
