Home last night from another amazing stay at the Wailea Beach Villas. We first visited this property 5 years ago, and it was just as spectacular the second time around. The villas are gorgeous, comfortable, extremely well appointed, and ideally located on Wailea Beach, right in the heart of the resort area and a quick walk to the Shops at Wailea. With 3 young kids, having the ability to eat and prepare some meals in the villa, have laundry in the unit, and plenty of space to spread out really made the vacation even more enjoyable. Traveling from the east coast, the kids were each up at different times as they got adjusted to the time difference. Being able to prepare breakfast as the kids got up, and sit with coffee on the lanai as the sun came up was so stress-free...I can't imagine how stressful it would have been if we had to get everyone up and out at the same time to wait in line at a resort restaurant for an expensive breakfast. I used the fitness center every day and although small, it was well appointed and quite nice, overlooking the family pool.

Tracy, the resort concierge, was super nice, knowledgeable, and a tremendous help, suggesting interesting activities and dining options, and making the needed reservations for us. A highlight of the trip was the outrigger canoe whale watch that he suggested--we took a canoe right out onto the open ocean as whales blew and breached around us. Amazing! Something that can only be done in Maui.

The family pool near the penthouses was lovely, convenient, and never ever crowded (same for the adult pool on the ocean). What a contrast to the neighboring resorts where people are fighting for chairs! Towels were always available, as was water and sunscreen provided for guests free of charge. Beach toys were available as well. The beach attendants were always quickly available to set up chairs and umbrellas but the ocean, and walked around with water for resort guests--a very nice touch. Additionally, we met many nice people and families during our stay, which made it feel like a little community.

We booked a 10PM flight out and were able to use the beach and pools all day, and shower in the locker room by the fitness center before we left for dinner and our flight. We really felt like we got a "bonus day" as a result, and the resort staff was more than happy to accommodate us, even though we had checked out at 11AM.

We absolutely love this property and are already planning our return trip! Having stayed at many high end resorts, we are extremely picky about our vacation accommodations, but the WBV are at the very top of our list. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Maui.

Room Tip: Our room in the penthouses, M211, had been redecorated weeks before our arrival. What a pleasant su...

We just stayed a week at one of the penthouses at the Wailea Beach Villas. This was probably the greatest place we have ever stayed at. The penthouse building is the farthest from the beach, but they are perched higher than any of the other buildings on the property so they afford a fantastic ocean view. We were still close enough to the beach to hear the crash of the waves. We were there in January and the whale activity out in the water is incredible. This property does not have any cocktail or restaurant service, but it is just steps from other major resort hotels and also adjacent to The Shops at Wailea which have several great restaurants and shops. Other great amenities are a private beach area where an attendant will set up your chair with towels and umbrella. Two great pools, one is adult only. Awesome!

We rented a 3 bedroom unit and it was absolutely perfect for our needs (5 adults and 3 kids). The place was immaculately maintained and had everything we needed, and gave us the option to cook our own food rather than eat out all the time. They offer a full concierge service (Tracey = awesome) and have their own pools -- which are never as crowded as those that we saw in the hotels.

Minor issues: for some reason, the kids pool was VERY cold, specially when compared to the adults only pool. And our unit had no exhaust so when cooking you do have to leave doors open if it gets smokey (we set off the smoke alarm). But really quite minor; overall LOVED this place.

Room Tip: Penthouse villas are very close to The Shops at Wailea so convenient for access to shops and restaur...

Aloha.....Thank you for your kind review of Wailea Beach Villas. I was thrilled that you had such a wonderful time and the property is indeed a great alternative to the large resorts in the area. We loved the location to the beach and the Shops of Wailea. The Shops of Waileais across the street which as handy for shopping, morning coffee and restaurats. The view was fantastic Service at the beach was excellent as towels, chairs and umbrellas were provided instantaneously. The adult pool was beautiful. The childrens' pool was perfect for families. On the downside, the Lanaiii furniture was very uncomfortable. Our suite was not clean so I had to clean the kitchen sink, scrub the floor and put all the dishes through the dishwasher. The Master Bedroom was lovely but the second bedroom had a twin bed and another bed larger than a twin and smaller than a double - way too small. The maintenance staff was excellent and came as soon as you had a problem. The air conditioning was too cold and we could not regulate it. The kitchen faucet did not work. This was a family holiday. Also the couches are very old.

Room Tip: Our room was quiet. I also liked the gated community and we had our own elevator to our unit.

This place matches the luxurious feel and great service of the resorts on Wailea Beach, but with the comforts and privacy of your own home. This was our second visit to the Wailea Beach Villas, in the past we've stayed at the Ho'olei, Grand Wailea and The Palms. While these places were nice, none compared to the Wailea Beach Villas. We stayed in one of the condos in the Penthouse. 2 bedrooms and two baths, fully stocked kitchen, laundry room and den made our 10 days of vacation so relaxing. Few minutes walk to the adult pool or beach. Also you can walk to the shopping mall which is across the back alley, or to the resort hotels via the beach walkway to visit their great restaurants and lounges. Never once had to worry about finding lounge chairs on the beach or poolside since you're not having to complete with 1000 other folks. Granted if you have young children and want more activities, the pools and slides next door are fun, but now that our children are adults, we all wanted quiet and relaxing. The staff here are friendly and were always so accommodating. We are already planning our next vacation here.

Our stay was a while back, however a review is something we have been intending to share. We apologize for being delayed on sharing our experience for others. The WBV and staff are deserving of never-ending compliments.

We booked our stay directly with the WBV after spending quite a bit of time researching our options all around Maui. The booking service was truly helpful. We reviewed the various suites represented on the Destination Resorts website (www.drhmaui.com/wailea-beach-villas) and selected a suite that fit our needs and budget.

In addition to helping us book our suite, they helped us organize a party (reception) on the property. We were able to plan everything from parking for guests to all of the details for the event. They even helped us line-up entertainment with a hula greeting and show for our party.
The suite was absolutely awesome, a top floor penthouse with a picture perfect view. We could spot whale spouts while we relaxed on the lanai and just immersed ourselves in this scene of paradise. Everything in the unit was top line and immaculate.

Service was better than excellent. From our initial call to book the reservation, to calls while we were at the property, they were always helpful and prompt. We had a problem with one of the refrigerators, and they resolved it as quickly as possible. While this was being fixed, they brought up ice so we would not run out during a small gathering we had in our suite.

Yes, this is a bit of an investment for the stay, but well worth it. We split the expense among 5 guests and made it work. We truly felt rich beyond belief because they did such an awesome job making it a VIP experience.

We highly recommend the stay; they made our vacation and wedding trip a memorable event. Our friends continue to compliment us on the party we had at WBV. We smile when we look at our photos and reminisce about the magic of our experience! We hope to be back soon!

Room Tip: Our penthouse view was incredible. The corner unit had a large lanai with a wonderful open-air slide...

Hands down, nicest place we've ever stayed, and the best staff we've ever encountered. We were met at the gate by someone who knew our name and alerted the front desk that we had arrived. We were then greeted with leis, cool lemon towels, and Hawaiian tea and shown around the property while our bags were taken to our room and our car parked.

Everything in the penthouse was amazing - the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was beyond well appointed (an amazing number of martini glasses?, two fridges, which I laughed at for a second, then quickly realized it was amazing), and the unit was SPOTLESS. Not just clean, absolutely spotless. When we got settled in, my son looked at me and said, "well, when are moving here for good?" And my husband informed me, "just so you know, the Holiday Inn Express will never be okay again."

Yes, this place is expensive. But if what you're after is an amazing Hawaiian vacation, book here. Amazing location right across the street from the Shops at Wailea, amazing beach, amazing property. The pools were great - we didn't get to use the adult pool because, you know, kids and all that, but it looked wonderful. The kids pool was still quite nice and they had a toy closet that my kids loved. The service down at the beach was top notch - my husband got stung by a jelly fish that got caught up in his swim shirt, so I asked the staff for help and they were simply great. The concierge was so enthusiastic and full of great ideas (I wish we had talked to him more!), and the cleaning staff was stellar. We loved everything about this place, and it will be the only place we go when we return to Maui.

Room Tip: Above the 3rd floor would be ideal if you really want to get a great view of the sunset and ocean, b...
