“Excellent new place in Wailea”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

During our recent visit to Maui, we were pleasantly surprised by this new restuarant in Wailea. The food was creative and tasted great. The setting was nice. On the positive side, the food, the restuarant manager and Russel, the waiter during our second visit. Why not five stars, the waiter our first night. She was pleasant but not professional or competent. An example, was that we saw her steal the oil and vinegar from one table while they were still using it to give to one of her tables. The good news is that this never impacted us because she never brought us bread. The food brought us back for our second visit and we are glad we did...

“Very tasty”
Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

We went their the other night and had a very tasty dinner. The servings were a bit smaller than expected. The server didnt come to the table until she noticed we were looking around to see who would be our server. Plus it was early so she wasn't in the weeds. She apologized but that's not how I wanted to start my night out for dinner. She did seem to be a bit inexperienced too. We saw another server explaining the different items on the menu to his table which we would have liked that kind of service. My husband was disappointed in the bread. I did appreciate that the chef accomodates for gluten free guests which I am.

“Glad He's Back”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Matteo has opened at new location from his former Wailea spot. Ambience is nicer than his former site. Food is original and creative - good quality. Service was attentive without hovering, bread with meal was delicious, and it was busy during dinner hours. Recommend reservations for evening.

“Excellent flavors!”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Enjoyed dinner outside at Matteo's last evening. Beautiful restaurant, and our group of four ordered different items so we could taste and share - glad we did! The Saltimbocca (chicken) was phenomenal and a huge portion, and we also enjoyed the pumpkin ravioli and Tagliatelle. Unique pairings of flavors, all the way to dessert. Our effervescent waiter Russell added to our evening, he knew the menu well and has a fun personality! Will definitely return.

“Attention foodies...”
Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

The mare fettuccine is highly recommended In my book. Matteo is one of the most accomplished young chefs of our time and I felt honored to have dined in his establishment.

Not to mention, the focaccia was flawless.

You are missing out if you don't make this stop on your next Maui getaway.
