We spent 5 nights at the Andaz. Overall a good experience with a few hiccups. The staff is very helpful and friendly, grounds and pools are beautiful. Layout of the bathroom is tight and minimal places to put stuff. The narrow area in front of the sink is the path to get to the shower and separate toilet room. The shower design is a bit wonky. No shower door, just a curtain, and the shower head aims right toward the opening so easy to flood out the bathroom. We had a problem with a defective valve on the shower, causing the temp to wildly fluctuate, but they repaired it and gave us some compensation off the room price. Breakfast buffet is very pricey, but amazing selection including lots of fresh fruits. We signed up for the hotel's luau. The shared dishes are brought to the tables of 8, which was much nicer than dealing with a long buffet line. Each serving dish had a generous portion. Performance includes a fire dancer which is supposedly not done at all the luau's in the area. We got in line for seating about 30 minutes prior to the luau start time and got great seats. We were on the 6th floor, so had a full view of the ocean from our balcony. From the room the view was a bit more limited, but still nice. Took advantage of the hula and ukelele lessons, which are included in the resort fee. There is also a nice paved walking path (a couple miles long) on the beach side of the hotel that we used every day.
