Customer service, design elements and overall food quality of the restaurants was solid to excellent. But some of the basics need work. The fact that the closets and doors in a suite do not close/have a true closing mechanism but rather need to be leaned on to close and most of the time would pop right open is absolutely unacceptable. The fact that half the elliptical machines were always glitching so you couldn't properly use them (for an entire week) is absolutely unacceptable at this price point. The fact that the AC went from causing the room temperature to go from "not cool enough" to "ice box" in one degree of difference is absolutely unacceptable. The bed being rather uncomfortable is absolutely unacceptable. The lack of a flat surface on which to place toiletries in the bathroom is absolutely unacceptable. There are too many basic things that you should never even have to think about as a guest that we had to put up with or devote time to during our stay. That is not relaxing, that is a chore. You have great people working there and the design/layout is great....but the other stuff makes the bigger difference.

Would 10/10 recommend. The food was outstanding. The Staff was very friendly and were able to give useful information about planning excursions. The resort is not only breathtaking, but the rooms are amazing and clean. Definitely plan on coming back for sure!

Arriving at the Andaz upon sunset is a surreal experience and the accompanying welcome was warm and genuine. The vista from the lobby across the multiple pools, the band warming up, sun warming down, was instantly enveloping.
Entering the room, it took a while for our eyes to adjust from the moody hallways, but the bright, fresh palate matched white sandy beaches of the Island.
Critique:
• Valet only parking at $35/night when (1) the lot is visible and (2) it takes a while to retrieve your car (the valet cost was more than the rental on a new convertible).
• Only one hook to hang a towel.
• The toilet door wouldn’t close. If you gave it a hard yank, it would scrape its way to some kind of middle ground, but that’s both disruptive and unreassuring.
• Above the bed, a strip of the ceiling had been patched with filler, but not painted.
• There was no way to play music in the room.
• Sound insulation is weak (crying kids on one side and a rampant pacer upstairs at 6am).
• Only one side of the bed had a power outlet.
• No toe caps on doors. For any guests with feet, watch out!
• The fridge was bare (ok, it contained three sugary drinks, but nothing beats a cold beer on arrival).
• While both are talented, the never-ending Ed Sheeran v Bruno Mars soundtrack wears thin.
At $900 a night, you get to be picky, right? It was still great. Comfy bed, wonderful pools, fantastic beach and the food is ok. I’d love to think I’ll return, but the value equation isn’t right for round II.
