“Perfection”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

I had no idea what to expect from a hotel chain I had never heard of. Turns out that this was one of the best hotel experiences we've had. The Andaz exceeded our expectations in every way. First, the property is hip, great to look at, and perfectly situated on a wonderful, accessible beach. They have done a wonderful job in making the hotel feel very boutique, yet it has all of the comforts and conveniences of a large hotel. While the rooms are not huge, they are very well laid out, making you feel like you have more space than is physically there.

The beach at Andaz is just what you would picture a Hawaiian beach to be, complete with palm trees, soft sand, perfect ocean views, and a fantastic reef for snorkeling right in front of the hotel. During low ride, the tidepools are incredible - we saw crabs and starfish, urchins of all kinds, and even small fish. The Andaz staff are beachside and are there to help set up chairs/umbrellas and help with paddle boarding, canoeing, boogie boarding - all of which are avail at no extra charge.

The hotel restaurants were phenomenal, which is an unusual thing to be able to say. The breakfast buffet was included in the package we booked, and was so very worth it - food was incredible every morning. For a real special dinner experience, Morimoto's restaurant did not
disappoint! Even the poolside bar food was delicious...though not inexpensive.

We were all continually amazed by the friendliness of the Andaz staff. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time. It was not stuffy in the least: the perfect combination of comfort and service. I would seriously be interested to know how they do their hiring - each and every person we encountered in the hotel, its restaurants, or at the beach/pool were beyond nice and helpful and you can see the pride they take in where they work. It is very evident they are so happy to be working there and said numerous times that it is the best hotel on the island.

We couldn't agree more and can't wait to return.

We stayed 3 nights in a suite at the Hyatt Regency followed by 5 nights in a suite at the Andaz. We were so glad to stay at the Andaz second as it was by far the superior experience. The rooms, pools, service, beach, drinks, food were all fantastic. We couldn't have imagined a better hotel or a better stay. 100% recommended.

Having the advantage (or disadvantage) of having stayed here and the Four Seasons a few hotels down the beach on the same trip I can confidently say the Andaz was a clear choice for the better hotel. While the Seasons trumped the Andaz in its amazing artwork it failed in most key areas of any hotel. The Andaz had more sophisticated architecture, better dining options, a more secluded beach and vastly superior pool. Staff was comparable as both were excellent. The Andaz restaurant had the best breakfast on the island...probably a top five experience anywhere. Expensive, as is everything in Hawaii, but we'll worth the price of admission.

This hotel is absolute perfection. It is beautifully decorated, incredibly comfortable, and in the perfect location. EVERYONE that works here is beyond nice. The entire staff goes out of their way to make sure you have the best possible vacation.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with incredible views. The pools are amazing. The lounge chairs that line the beach are cozy. I honestly have no complaints! I will 100% stay here again, and would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and upscale hotel in Maui.

We were so Happy to be guests at this amazing resort. We felt welcomed into the Andaz Maui 'Ohana (family) from the first time we stepped into the magnificent atrium and were warmly greeted by our host. Our room was beautiful ... a real 'zen' feeling ... very comfortable and relaxing. The views are stellar; fronting Mokapu Beach with Ulua and Keawaukapu beaches on either side. If you are fortunate enough to have a room facing the West Maui Mtns (be sure to request that view) and the spa pool, then you have the best view on island. The other main pools; four cascading infinity pools are the centerpiece of the property. Keep in mind, rooms that face these pools will have noise from the restaurants, bars and the constant music-which is perfect Hawaiian music in the mornings/day then switches to clubish at night--fine during the day but the music plays at night which may be bothersome if your room is there. We enjoyed it sitting on our deck enjoying the sounds and the sights. I will say one night it got a bit load but not too much of a problem.
Ka'ana Kitchen was simply superb ... for breakfast and dinner. In fact, the dinner menu prepared by Chef and his team is absolutely sublime ... we loved everything we tried. Morimoto Maui is on property, Loved it had lunch there a couple of times. The spa was also incredible. Also, we had the pleasure of seeing many whales on the early morning kayak ride offered for Free ... a definite recommendation. All that said, we were 'blown away' by the people. It is clear they genuinely care about the guests ... it goes way beyond the usual high-quality service experience you expect from a top resort ... it feels like a family that is welcoming you into their home. We loved every minute of our time. Unfortunately, we had to leave ... but, rest assured, we will go back.

Room Tip: If you need it quite to sleep at night don't get a room overlooking the bar and pools - some are...

Just returned from a recent 4 day stay at this hotel. The experience was above the best! From the first contact with valet (Peter) to the Guest Relations (Yatta & Makana - who both went over and above to make this a memorable trip for my wife's birthday) to the pool staff (Mike, Devon, Fernando, Kyler) to beach staff (Phillip) all wonderful team members. Before booking we were a little apprehensive because of some of the reviews we had read on the Andaz in regards to the rooms. Whatever their prior problems with the rooms - they have worked them all out. The bathroom shower, the storage problems for clothing, there was nothing lacking now. We were complimentary upgraded to an OV room, and it was amazing - to watch the sunset from our balcony or beside the pool. This place is very romantic and probably the best hotel we have ever experienced. Food from the Beach bar, Market, and their Ka'ana Kitchen was excellent indeed. The beach itself is excellent for sunning (complimentary chairs and umbrellas) swimming and snorkeling. We even got to watch an outrigger regatta from our beach chairs! The infinity pools were the best and never a problem getting a chair or service around the pool. I totally agree that the best part of the hotel is the amazing service from everyone you met. Truly an Aloha experience. Many mahola's from this family of two! We are already trying to figure out when we can return.....

Room Tip: I don't think any room on this property would be bad, we were comp'ed to OV which was breath...

We were very excited for our trip to Andaz based on all the wonderful reviews. It did not disappoint. We traveled with our 3 year old daughter and she won't stop talking about the "new hotel!" The room are a bit small, but if you are going to Maui to stay in your room you are going to the wrong paradise! Food and service were top notch and pools were never busy. Even though the resort was booked full while we were there, it never felt crowded. Can't wait to book another trip, maybe this time without our daughter so we can enjoy the restaurants :)
