Stayed here the last two nights of our first trip to Maui. This was our first stay at an Andaz property and we were really blown away.

First, the hotel is really modern in style and in service. There’s no traditional “front desk” in the lobby. We were greeted by a really friendly team that gave us a cool towel and lemonade to drink. We were sat down in the lobby (which has a sand pit with chairs in the middle by the way) and checked in. As a platinum member, we were upgraded to a suite with a partial ocean view, which was great. The room was really, really nice. If you like modern, clean, and elegant, then this hotel is for you. It’s definitely the type of room for the vacationer who is only trying to relax and chill out.

Valet parking was all that was available (for $30/night). This seemed like a draw back at first, but when other resorts are charging $30+/night for resort charges, it felt like the difference was what you would pay in tips.

The hotel did offer a few unique complimentary items as well. This included a photo session with a professional photographer, outrigger canoe experience (which my 2.5 year old loved), non-alcoholic drinks and snacks in the room, a reusable mesh bag, and small, reusable water bottles.

The 3 infinity pools were a nice touch. The small lagoon pool at the bottom was popular for the kids. The beach and pool attendants were great putting out towels, chairs and umbrellas for us. There is also an adult only pool separate from the other pool areas. There are no slides though if you have older kids that would enjoy that.

The wifi was probably the best I’ve had at a hotel. One click to sign in…no passwords…and it worked as far as the farthest lagoon pool from the hotel.

The location is a little drawback if you plan on doing more adventurous activities such as Haleakala or Hana Highway.

I would recommend this hotel to all the honeymooners and families with young kids.

We traveled to Maui for my cousin's wedding that took place at Andaz Hotel. We were in a big group from 20s to 90s. We all enjoyed the stay. The atmosphere was very relaxing with gorgeous ocean view, modern architecture, beautiful ground pools, and nice reception assistant.

My cousin and I went for paddle board lesson by Elick. It was our first ride of paddle board. We saw sea turtle during the 1.5 hr lessen. The ocean is just so calm and peaceful that I hoped time stops right there. Water is clear enough that I can see 10 meters below the sea level. Altho there's not much going on down there, it still was a memorable journey just to be able to feel the ocean. In addition, my other cousin saw whales on his Kayak trip the same morning!!

The wedding was SPECTACULAR. It was a sweet, warm, peaceful, lovely, wonderful night that I would never ever forget. Since Andaz is a smaller size hotel, we were able to enjoy the QUIET period on the grass, and had the beautiful wedding ceremony with the witness of sunset and sound of the ocean. Also, the reception and dinner table setup was elegant and delicate. Wedding flow went smooth, with no interruptions or strangers.

Hotel standard room was very modern yet feels like home with the wooden texture furniture. This is a hotel MUST stay if you are coming to Maui. I also stayed at Grand Wailea the other night, I prefer Andaz with smaller size, less people, more quiet, and modern.

My wife and I stayed here for a week at the beginning of February. This was our first stay in Hawaii and they set the bar sky high! From the point we stepped onto the resort until the moment we left our service and experience was top notch! Check-in was a neat experience and made us feel special and relaxed as we were escorted to our room.
Our room was fantastic. We had an oceanfront suite overlooking the resort and the ocean. This resort is brand new so everything inside and outside of our room felt new and clean. We enjoyed the sound system via IPAD during the stay. Our suite had a huge walk-in shower, soaking tub, fancy bidet and high tech window shades (nothing beats waking up in the morning and being able to upen up the blinds to a fantastic ocean view! We started every morning with breakfast at the Ka'ana Kitchen. One of the best hotel breakfasts I have experienced. Delicious fresh food daily.
The pool staff was great. Always came around with towels and offered water and sunscreen. Bar server also came around frequently taking food and drink orders. I do like how many chairs they have at the resort, as we would never have any trouble finding two chairs next to each other.
February is in heart of whale season. One of the highlights of our trip was watching the whales literally right in front of the resort. The lobby has binoculars set up to watch the whales, a great touch!
The have an arrivals/departure lounge, so we were able to spend the afternoon by the pool and shower before dinner and our flight home.
All in all, so far this was this was the nicest resort we have visited. We cannot wait to come back!

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the Andaz for four days and loved every minute of our time at this lovely and new hotel! The service was incredible; from check in to check out and everything in between. The room was lovely and very spacious. I am not sure why people have complained about the size...how much space do you need in a hotel room on Maui? And, why are you spending anytime in your room anyway (well, I understand why you would spend some, but let's not be crazy!). Where to start? The pools...amazing! Simply amazing! We spent days in the upper pool swimming and drinking the fabulous cocktails served pool side on one of the comfortable sofas. Ah...I am relaxed just thinking about it. The food....it was all so good. The food at the pool bar and both restaurants was great. I have to admit that I preferred the Ka'ana to the Morimoto. It's not that the food and service at the Morimoto weren't great, but...flying in fish from Japan? Really? We are on Maui! There is incredible fish to catch right out front. But, that's just a personal opinion. I really felt that the Andaz excelled in staff and service. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We did not come across one person that was not fantastic! We will most definitely be returning. I would definitely opt for a room with ocean view and away from the lobby and bar.

Room Tip: Ocean view, close to water and away from the lobby and bar.

We went to the Andaz to have dinner at Kaana Kitchen with our friends who were on Maui visiting for the week. When we first arrived we were unsure how things were going to go when we found out that their lounge was outside and it was pouring rain. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that one of the wait staff was willing to bring us our drinks upstairs in the hotel lounge area. It only got better from there! As we were waiting for our reservations, one of the hotel staff saw my daughter who is 3 months and our friends child who is 5, and gave us a nice blanket for the baby and gave the 5 year old a fish toy and net to play with. She was warm and welcoming and we weren't even guests of the hotel! Every staff member we encountered was absolutely wonderful and smiling! Our friends will make a point to stay here next time they visit! And we will make a point to eat at the restaurants here as the service and food at Kaana Kitchen were equally impressive!

The ANdAZ is a real great hotel, mainly driven by a modern architecture and the outstanding service level. The staff it well trained to serve you in a very friendly way which gives you the feeling of being something special.
The building is constructed open and gives the guests the feeling to be closer to the see compared to other hotels - including the option to watch whales from the lobby! The garden is established like a park with different pools, so that there are multiple choices to hang around and to enjoy "holiday chillin".
But, there are some "buts" as well. The price for breakfast is for 2 persons with around 100 bucks the highest price level I´ve ever seen so far. In addition, it was my first experience in a 5* hotel ever, that I was not able to start the breakfast without hanging in a wait queue for more than 30 minutes due to an overload in the breakfast restaurant, caused by a planned (!) company event.
In general, the prices are somehow over the top: Dinner for 2 for 150 $ (no drinks) and a Cappuccino to go for around 6 $ might be acceptable as an exception, but not for a few days and with a budget less as for the jet-set caste.

Bottom line: great hotel in a great area, but not the best package we enjoyed so far.

As most reviewers here have said, the new Andaz is an exceptional hotel. It offers something currently not found in Hawaii, a more modern take on an island hotel, one that maintains a local flavor but doesn't emphasize it as much as more traditional Hawaiian hotels. At the same time, it offers some of the more sophisticated styling of the better boutique hotels in San Francisco or New York. The great feel of the hotel is in part because they do something that most at this price point don't but should: they include a lot of charges in the room rate, and then do not nickel and dime you. Internet is free, and snacks in the room (good snacks) are as well. The spa facilities are also open for use by guests. The kids play center is also without charge, as are many other smaller items that often are annoyingly subject of additional charge. The result is you feel like you are at someone's (beautiful) home more than at a hotel.

It is not inexpensive, but the vibe is relaxed and cool. The rooms are very sophisticated and feature top-notch features, like bedside switches that control everything, including both a transparent and blackout shade on the picture window. The pools are gorgeous, and the availability of a quiet one for adults is appreciated.

But at bottom, what was unusual was the service, which was as good as any hotel, anywhere with some minor exceptions. Everyone was proactively helpful, and even when a few things got screwed up (in our case housekeeping), they wen't way out of their way to make it up (in our case with a free room service dinner). If they can maintain that, this hotel will take off and rival the best in Hawaii, or perhaps surpass them.

Room Tip: You need to be above the third floor to have a real ocean view.
