“Awesome Condos”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

I have stayed in Condo #73 a number of times and have to say that this has made Wailea feel like a home away from home. The "odd" numbered villas are on the ground floor, which I find much preferrable to the 2nd floor units. This unit is one bedroon, 2 batheooms, and has a "Murphy Bed" in the living room.
The kitchen is equiped with everything one needs, including a packet of Maui Coffee for that first morning on the island! We shopped at Costco in Kahalui, and cooked almost all of our meals.

There are 2 pools in the complex, and happily 1 is considered a "Quiet" pool, for simply relaxing, sunning, and quiet conversations.

We stayed at Grand Champions #71 for 8 nights, celebrating two birthdays. The two bedroom, two bath condo was perfect for us, two couple traveling together. The kitchen had everything we needed, plus a few extras we never would have thought we needed! We cooked at home, only went out to dinner two nights the entire time we were there. The unit was clean, fully stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, even coolers!! We were maybe 1/4 mile from the water so were at the beach every day, loved the turtles, spinner dolphins and whales. Nature put on a great show for us. And, last but certainly not least, huge props to Miles, the security guard on the premises. Very friendly while being professional at all times. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a very nice stay at Wailea Grand Champion : the condos are located just 2-3 minutes drive from pretty beaches and the condo 117 was nicely furnished and the kitchen seems new. It was big enough for our family of 5 and there is a huge shower in the master bedroom.
Every 3 days, housekeeping is provided.
We loved to wake up with the bird songs every morning.
We would recommend this condo to anyone.

Room Tip: Any condo seems nice for the neighborhood is well maintained.

We rented Grand Champions # 6 for 9 nights, long enough to really get the lay of the land! We were optimistic even before we arrived because the owners communicated so well; they were prompt, clear, and thorough. The one-bedroom/one-bath unit was clean and fresh and supplied with four beach chairs, two beach umbrellas, light robes for post-beach or swim, woven mats for sunbathing, etc. The unit has excellent ventilation and with the ocean breezes we only needed the a.c. one evening. The kitchen appliances are all newish and there are adequate kitchen supplies for preparing meals. There are two pools, one of which is a quiet (i.e., no little kids) policy, and both pool areas have two large gas grills for communal use. The year-round residents were friendly and gave us good tips for local dining. We also enjoyed the small lanai for meals and relaxing.
Two important details are that this property is not on the beach and there were some issues with the noise in the morning. On the beach topic, we were fine with this, as there is adequate free parking for the many wonderful local beaches and technically you can also walk to the beach from here if you wish. The noise was mostly due to the mismatch in schedules between ourselves and our neighbors, who were up talking loud and slamming doors very early. Evenings were not a problem as the place quieted down pretty early. (The owners of the whole complex could address the main problem by installing slam abatement devices on the unit doors.)
Finally, this is a wonderful area. Beaches adjacent to this property offer everything from snorkeling to totally chilling to surfing lessons. The Wailea area is more fancy, with several very nice resorts offering a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Kihei is more low-key and also has many food options.
Bottom line: Would we stay here again? Most definitely.

Room Tip: Try to choose a unit you have details about, as I heard other guests commenting on some negative asp...

These condos are situated between the tennis club and a golf course. We had number 142 with a partial ocean view on the tennis club side of the development. Our 1 bed condo had two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living area. It was nicely furnished and we had everything we could ask for including beach towels, boogie boards and beach chairs! For those who need to know it also had free wi-fi. There are two pools on site, one of which is a quiet pool. There is supposed to be no noise between 10pm and 8am but that does not apply to the golf course – we were woken one morning at 6am by grass cutting! The gardeners on the development also start early as we were woken at 8am the next two mornings by lawnmowers and strimmers. However, apart from that we have no complaints. Our balcony was private and was in the sun most of the day and at night we had a great view of some beautiful sunsets.
For eating out you can go up the hill to find a couple of restaurants – Monkeypod Kitchen is particularly good. 37 beers on tap and a wide choice of wines and good selection of food. They have two happy hours, the traditional early evening and then again from 9pm to 11pm. We went to the later happy hour one night for cheap pizzas and beer! There is a great atmosphere and the place is always busy. We chose to walk so that we could have a drink but it is a good 15 minute walk up hill but at least it is downhill on the way home! Alternatively, there is a slightly shorter walk downhill to the Shops at Wailea which is a lovely mall with a good choice of restaurants to suit all tastes. Longhis was our favourite here.

Room Tip: Partial sea view rooms on tennis club side

Great vacation at an excellent location. Condo #128 has recently been renovated and everything is brand new and very nicely decorated. We had stayed at the Maui Kamaole previously and though the location was fine the condo was run down, which detracts from the enjoyment of a vacation. Not the case this time, we highly recommend this spot to fully enjoy the beautiful island of Maui, Aloha.

We stayed here as a family and really enjoyed our stay. There were 3 adults, 2 teenagers and our son (10 yrs old at the time) and we fit into Unit 134 just fine. The place was spacious and clean, the beds were comfy (even the roll away they brought for our son) and everything we needed in the kitchen was provided. The condo neighbourhood was quiet, the location was great, and the beach was a bit of a walk, but we could have driven there very quickly. We used the onsite pool a few times but the local condo owners were on the quiet side and not overly receptive to teenagers and kids splashing around (but who can blame them). Overall, we would stay here as a family again without hesitation.
