“Wonderful trip to Maui”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Just returned from our first trip to Maui. The condo was fabulous. Everything you needed in the room was there, just like at home. We just loved it there. Our unit was 12C (if you are at 12c be sure to say hi to the black and white cat that lives around there. Very cute and affectionate.)

I like to put both the good and the bad in my reviews. So here goes.

The great stuff! Room was very clean, lots of space, washer/dryer was great to have; close to shops & restaurants (make sure you use the coupons you get for the restaurants), the beach is amazing (nicest one I have ever seen); pool areas was very nice with a fridge to store some drinks and food if you planned on staying by the pool for a while; there were books you could read at the pool area and in our room (kind of a give a book take a book idea); snorkeling right at that beach was nice, staff was incredibly helpful and polite; they let us stay at pool after check out so we had somewhere to be before our flight.

Areas they could improve on. The pull out couch in our unit was not even worth having in the room (not that we needed to pull out the bed of it;, it was horrible to sit on and old, really needs to go to the trash; wash the top of the fridges in the pool area (yikes were they dirty on top, clean everywhere else though); the pool furniture and our deck furniture I think are only sprayed off for cleaning, they could use a good wipe down more often, not just the spray.

I am usually pretty picky about places I stay and I would highly recommend staying there. We plan to go back again. I would however check the site map and maybe pick a unit closer to the pool/beach, it was a bit of a walk from 12C (though we love the black & white cat there.. again, future visitors please take good care of her!)

We have stayed at Ekahi twice and rented through a vrbo owner each time. The grounds are so beautiful and the pool on the ocean is fantastic. There are kitchen facilities at the pool so you can cook and relax while using the pool or watching the sunset. The sunsets are outstanding from this property. You can hop on the beach walk nearby and enjoy the ocean view, and you can check out the other properties in Wailea. This is a perfect location for a reasonable, enjoyable Maui holiday. Aloha!

The best place to stay on Maui! Fabulous beaches, gorgeous landscaping, close to amenities. Home away from home. Staff extremely friendly. Clean and beautiful. Never need to vacation anywhere else! Perfect for families or just couples. Whales everywhere. Perfect pools and private beach access. My favourite place for our family to be. Well worth the money.

We love this unit, great view, comfortable and lanai dining that beatsmost Maui restaurants ( in that the view is exceptional). We have stayed 3 or 4times. It is our home away from home. The unit is a 1 bedroom with a pull out couch, 2 bathrooms. Very comfortable and the on site manager Lydia is exceptional.

We stayed in unit 7A in September 2013. The unit was very nice, it was quite homey and comfortable for our family of three. It had all the things needed in a condo. There were a couple minor touchups needed with paint etc, but what condo or hotel doesn’t need that. Very comfortable furniture, bed, two bathrooms, nice kitchen with all the necessities. Great lanai/patio with tile flooring and a quite new BBQ. It has a beautiful selection of tropical plants, trees and flowers surrounding you off of the lanai. Very peaceful and private. The unit has a washer & dryer, dish washer, dining room table etc. AC unit in the leaving room and bedroom. Flat screen TV’s in bedroom and living room. Free WiFi. The carpet was very lush and soft, something you don’t always see. The pool and beach were steps from the unit, which was very nice when carrying stuff to the pool/beach. Plenty of parking and very close to the unit. The unit had two Tommy Bahama beach chairs, two umbrellas and some kid stuff for the beach. The main pool by the beach was beautiful and hardly anyone there. You can see the beach from the pool. There is a nice covered shady patio at the pool with chairs if you want to get out of the sun. The beach was beautiful and clean. I woke up and took sunrise pictures of the beach every morning. The grounds of the property are beautiful and well maintained. I took tons of pictures. I can’t say anything bad about this place. Can’t wait to go back. Aloha!

We stayed in unit 33b which was a one bedroom with a great access to the green belt and view of the ocean. The property is gorgeous, well tended to, with a great beach and nice pool area for families. The unit itself was nice enough, but perhaps average compared to all the nicely renovated units. This one had been renovated but is still basic. We got a lower rate than some other units so perhaps that is why. The pull out bed was ok for our kid but prob not comfortable for an adult. They were kind to bring an extra mattress for free for our other child. The lanai is so big, a plus, but the unit could have nicer offerings out there, ie better furniture, and another chaise lounge. Ekahi is the place to be with a family, ESP young kids. We will def be back. Destination resorts was very professional to work with, had pleasant interactions with them and very helpful. One note that the daily cleanings are ok but not thorough.

Room Tip: Green belt for kids, try a bit higher for views. Avoid back units bc of street noise. Ground level u...
