My wife and I were invited to join some new friends of ours in Maui at this hip and lively restaurant in Wailea and we loved the food, the live music and ambiance. Our only complaint would be that they seated us 1 hour late (we had reservations and showed-up on time), but that just gave us an opportunity to develop a nice appetite for the delicious, locally-sourced, organic menu items (like their pumpkin raviolis, wood-fired pizzas, and delicious salads). They also have a great assortment of draft beers and cocktails. Come around 9pm for happy hour!

After receiving numerous recommendations and passing by the ever-full restaurant, we decided to try MonkeyPod. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. We tried the fish tacos, steak, grilled mahi mahi, chicken wings, and the kids pizza. The fish tacos were very tasty - not the best I've had but still quite good. The steak was really great, the mashed potatoes that accompany it have a slightly different flavour but were still delicious. The grilled mahi mahi and the chicken wings were also great. The only thing that we were kind of disappointed in was the kids pizza, it has asagio cheese which is very sharp and strong. If you love asagio then it's great, but if you're a kid who's expecting mozzarella then it's not. In addition, our waitress was lovely and the atmosphere of the restaurant is eclectic and fun. We would go back any day!

My husband and I went here for happy hour, knowing that the half price appetizers we would order would be our dinner. Out server was great and super friendly. We ordered the chicken wings, pumpkin ravioli, and the margherita pizza (had a slice each and took home the rest). My husband ordered several maui brewery beers and was given a sample of one since he wanted to try it but didn't know if he would like it. I had my first Mai tai and then had the Pod Thai which I did enjoy more! During happy hour they also had live music. Monkeypod had just want we needed after a relaxing day at the beach!

We went here twice for happy hour during our week long visit to Wailea. The food is amazing and I have to mention the lilikoi mai tai is a drink that should not be missed. I would definitely recommend visiting the Monkeypod Kitchen during happy hour for pizza, other great appetizers and a variety of exotic drink options. The service was exemplary. Can't wait to go back!!

We had heard SO MUCH about this establishment but personally not that impressed with their service; They were SUPER busy and we like a bit more attention from a waiter. Felt a bit like we were herded in and out? BUT, Wow...the menu and food (and dessert! CHOCOLATE PIE!) were a but on the WOW side. Worth a visit? SURE!
