Tried to come for dinner but the place was packed. Came back the next day for lunch instead, no reservation, no wait. The price is better for lunch anyways (still a bit high), and it's similar dishes for dinner with a different price tag. Ate outside, good views, nice scenery. Food was tasty and they had a good beer selection on tap as well. I would eat here again.

We had two fantastic meals at Monkeypod - a great restaurant that is very well priced for the area. Definitely make reservations and request the patio – the sunset views are unbeatable. It also can get pretty noisy inside.
Expect the meal to last at least an hour - even for quick items like appetizers. The wait staff is very good, but they definitely take their time.
The pie is great - but much better to eat it there than to take it home (we took it back to the hotel the second time and it wasn't as good). Coconut Cream is the best, followed by Banana.

My family and I had a very mixed experience here with both high and low points … hence the average review. Overall this was a bit disappointing, given all the buzz we'd heard online and from several people about Monkeypod. To their credit, the management did try to make things right when faced with our various complaints (described below) by comping a full round of appetizers, one steak and giving us the happy hour rate for our drinks even though we visited late in the evening. Despite having a reservation for 8:15pm, we initially needed to wait 45 minutes to be seated. We then noticed that one item we'd seen listed on their menu online was not on the menu they presented us (the Asian Pear and Arugula pizza). The macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi was a big hit with the two members of our group who ordered it, so we definitely recommend that entree. One of our steaks was cooked to perfection and was greatly enjoyed - the other one was left fairly rare when it had been ordered well done (the properly cooked replacement then didn't come until after everyone else had finished eating, so we had to take it to go). All of our drinks were tasty, but the truffle oil fries were just okay. The restaurant was louder and busier than we'd expected, though part of this was likely due to the timing of our visit over the holidays. The description we read said casual/trendy, but I'd say the attire we observed leaned more toward trendy. All in all, we'd certainly go back here again … though with hopes of a better overall experience!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Just a simple pizza and salad with some drinks and we were ecstatic. This is one of the restaurants on Maui that is actually worth the money. The environment was also very enjoyable. definitely a go-to place in Wailea!

Wonderful atmosphere with sitting indoors and out on the patio. 36 beers on tap! Amazing wings, turkey burgers, sashimi bar starter, fabulous fish sandwiches for lunch and the pizzas looked great although we didn't try one. We were there for dinner and loved it so much we came back a few days later for lunch. Service was excellent, friendly and fun. Loved the whole vibe and you can tell they really care about the quality of the food. Btw, on Sundays champagne is half price. Definitely a worthwhile addition to your restaurant selection
