“Great setting”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This is an impressive setting, feels very fun, the service is great but didn't think the food was on the same level as Roy's. if traveling with kids, they will love that the restaurant is built on a fish pond with an aquarium. Polynesian decor with tiki statues makes it a very fun setting, did not feel the food lived up to the hype
It's not easy to find in the hotel grounds, since they are more like a botanic garden than hotel but were lovely, wish we'd stayed there instead!

“Unique setting sets the stage...”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

The casual, Hawaiian/Polynesian type decor with the restaurant set over a koi pool (where they also keep the lobster or fish you can order for dinner) makes for very unique atmosphere. Excellent menu with something for everyone. The salads were excellent, the filet mignon was good (we don't eat seafood), ending with the huge piece of hula pie we shared. Good wine list. It was one of the most expensive meals on our trip (as expected being located in the Grand Wailea), but worth it for the experience as a whole. The waitress even taught us how to correctly pronounce "Humuhumunukunukuapua'a! End the evening with a romantic stroll on the grounds and the beach path, and your night is complete!

“Perfect Maui Ambiance”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

If you are looking for the best combination of great food, ambiance and service, Humus is the place. On the ocean at the beautiful Grand Wailea. Open air restaurant with great views. The service was top notch and the food was great. If I had to pick anything to critique it would be I would have preferred a slightly larger selection on the menu and it was a little pricey but hey, you are paying for that view. They were great with kids too. Gave our girls coloring books in the beginning and a cute stuffed toy fish at the end.

“Amazing food, beautiful setting”
Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

Wow, amazing food. Hubby had the chicken dumplings followed by filet mignon. I had the prawns followed by the macadamia crusted mahi mahi. I have never tasted such amazing sweet potato mash, and the macadamia crust was exquisite. Service was very attentive, and the food promptly delivered. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely - we were seated in a nice spot not directly by the water but still lovely. Dining with the gorgeous sunset as the backdrop was incredible. If there is one criticism it is the price of the wine - ouch! $46 for a small bottle of Zinfandel. It is more cost effective to buy by the glass.
Would highly recommend the food here and would certainly dine again.

“Eat here!”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

Awesome atmosphere, food, and service! Pink snapper, filet, and hula pie - fantastic. You can also get spiny lobsters/maine lobsters that are live on site, and you can pick one out! But I decided against it - I'm from the east coast and can get Maine lobster anytime. Go with the local fish!!
