“Worth a visit”
Reviewed April 10, 2014 via mobile

This was a good find. They have a great menu and atmosphere. It was modern, quiet and clean. We sat at the bar since we did not have reservations and did not want to wait. From where we were sitting you could see back into the kitchen and it looked like there was great care taken on keeping it clean. The bartender made recommendations and everything was excellent. Definitely will be going back.

“Fresh fish in Paradise!”
Reviewed April 9, 2014 via mobile

Mediterranean flavors are featured on the fresh fish served at Pita and caught in the mornings by the owner, Johnny. My husband enjoyed the fresh caught Ono, which is not found often in Maui restaurants. I enjoyed the MahiMahi kabob which was served with sautéed vegetables and rice pilaf. Both were served with pita bread. The service was friendly and prompt and we were greeted by a friendly hostess at the door. A nice evening in Paradise!

“Great place!”
Reviewed April 8, 2014 via mobile

Enjoyed our dinner at Pita Paradise. Had the lamb/fish kabobs and they were wonderful. Server told us the owner catches the fish fresh every other day and that's where all of their fish comes from. Would definitely return!

“Don't Tell Anybody! (Ok, you can tell people.)”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

We live in Kihei and we've been their customers for over 10 years. Their other place, the one in Kihei is excellent too, but different. The Wailea restaurant is fine dining at reasonable prices. Fine means interesting meals perfectly prepared in proper portions, served promptly. So far so good.

Johnny The Greek and his wife Christine run this jewel of a restaurant with such love of their work and such appreciation for their customers, that you can always, I mean always, count on the very best in food and service. Of course, to have an excellent dining experience, you need the best in food and service, in a pleasant and beautiful atmosphere, right? Got that, right here. Even outdoor dining if you like. Or intimate back room booths. Whatever you like.

The menu is Mediterranean influenced. Greece to be specific. The fish is caught personally, daily, by Johnny The Owner. This has been going on for over a decade. Fresh fish prepared properly is like pure gold. If they have a two-fish special when you're there, get that. But if you don't want fish, anything else you order will be great too! Like the Moussaka for example! (Look it up if you aren't familiar.) Best ever Moussaka. Or the lamb. We usually start with the "American" Greek salad which is tasty and refreshing.

The full bar is very well stocked and the pours are always excellent. There are a lot of barstools, maybe 15 or so, and some cocktail tables. On certain nights there is a musician or two, always pleasant, for example the great Angela and Phil Benoit, great jazz guitar and sweet voice. Or David Wolff, all by himself, very pleasant and diverse repertoire.

Ok now, you're in a Greek restaurant, so get dessert. Home-made Baklava-Ice Cream Pie. Share. Or the tiramisu is dynamite: Greek style, with the ladysfingers in the middle instead of on the bottom.

Would you think this review would be more believable if I said something critical? Sorry, I'll have to get back to you on that. So just compare what I said with what others are saying and trust all of us when we tell you, you will be right back here on trip advisor writing your own unbelievably glowing review after your own excellent experience. You're reading this because you're thinking about trying Pita Paradise. Don't overthink it.

“Great Food, Service, & Value”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

This little Bistro in the Wailea /Gateway Centre is truly one of the eating out gems of Wailea. It is not located in one of the expensive resort hotels in Wailea or along the beach, but the Greek / Italian atmosphere is great whether inside or on the small patio. My wife and I (and adult daughter) are annual visitors to Maui and are really pleased we found this 2nd location of Pita Paradise (they have one in Kihei also). For a nice evening of dining you can't lose. The food (my favourite is the Italian Sausage Pasta) is delicious. They have a great menu that is complemented by the great and friendly service. There is a great selection of appetizers as well and in my/our minds their fish is excellent. We were in Rome recently and these folks would do well in the Italian Capital where competition is fierce and the "Italian" food is excellent.
Wailea can be very expensive and at times disappointing on portion and service (MaLa at the Marriott) but you won't leave this place disappointed or more importantly hungry and broke!
We highly recommend this spot. Our last visit was on March 14th as we were leaving that night for our return to Canada so a last meal on the island at this Bistro creates a great holiday memory!
Try them out.
