“It truly was a unique dining experience”
Reviewed February 28, 2011

I really wanted this to be a memorable meal and it was. It's to bad it was a bad memory. The waiters have way to many tables to pay any attention to each table. The sauteed mushroom appetizer was awful. A diner could have done better. My wife didn't want the starch with her mahi and asked for a side salad and was given a huge bowl of arugula. I ordered the
special Ono with asparagus risotto. The Ono was acceptable but the
reduction was so sweet it made the
dish inedible. The risotto was clumpy and crunchy. We just paid the check and ran back to the four seasons and ordered a pizza. Yes it was that bad.

“Good... but not outstanding.”
Reviewed February 25, 2011

We had dined at Bev Gannon's restaurants in Maui and decided to try Gannon's.
Not up to par with the others. Service adequate, but when brought cold coffee, the assistant was miffed and said "It is?" Brought another pot and it was even colder!!
Food was good, but not outstanding. Better restaurants to choose from.

“Mediocre and overpriced”
Reviewed February 14, 2011

We made a reservation 4 days in advance for an outside table for 2 at 6 pm. On arrival we had to wait for 20 min and ended up with an inside table as no outside tables were available. The special - a veal chop - was tough and I had to ask for a steak knife to cut it. My wifes chicken was overcooked and dry. The service was average.
A large party - 3 tables of 8 - arrived and were seated right beside us. We could hardly hear each other for the noise. Gannons asked its former patrons to return after they has some bad publicity. We did and it has not improved.
Pass on this one.....

“AMAZING WEDDING CEREMONY/RECEPTION!!!! highly recommend!!!”
Reviewed February 11, 2011

we had our wedding ceremony and reception at Gannon's in Wailea. Brides are picky and want everything to turn out perfect... Gannon's and America the wedding coordinator have the system down! They have the most amazing staff, friendly and accomodating, we were more than satisfied with our night at Gannon's. If you are going to have a wedding in Maui this is the way to go... affordable for a top notch venue. We had 23 guests and I plan on recommend Gannon's Restaurant to every friend who gets married. It bypasses all the horrible wedding nightmares and skips straight to whats important.... you and your husband/wife and your families celebrating your marriage!

“Poor Service, not worth the trouble”
Reviewed January 29, 2011

On a recent vacation we called in the afternoon to ask if we could come up for drinks and appetizers in the late afternoon during sunset, but we had a couple of children with us. I was told it would be no problem, we could sit outside and bring the kids during happy hour. I specifically asked if we should make a reservation and was told no, it wouldn't be necessary. However, not only was there a problem-- they would they not seat us because we didn't have a reservation, they had a "its not our problem" attitude. A half-hearted apology was offered after much discussion about the phone conversation but they really didn't care. Of course, if we walked out the door, there would be someone else to take our place, so why try to accomodate us? We're just tourists. So, we went down the street to the Four Seasons and got the service they are famous for.
