Heaven

This place is one of my favorite places on earth. I love the beach and the large surf break. It can be a bit anxious with young children or people who are not familiar with the ocean as the break can get pretty big and has the potential to be deadly. As like no as your cognizant of this it is most enjoyable and the scenery is worth it.

Makena State Beach - Hmmm, Do I go Big or Do I go Little?

Such an amazing and beautiful beach! We strolled in the late afternoon, early evening and watched a spectacular sunset. The beach is clean, big, and blue! Beautiful scenery and nice areas to explore. You'll have to find your way to Little Beach if you're so inclined for the 'bare' necessities.

Big Beach!

Makena is awesome! Huge beach, medium sized waves, (depending on weather) even when busy you can find a spot, nice sand, great views of Kahoolawe, Molokini, lifeguards, great spot !

DANGEROUS!

Malena Beach is breathtakingly beautiful - a broad sweep of beach, gorgeous aqua blue waters, interesting surf you could watch all day, plenty of space for folks to find their own roomy spot. It is also inexplicably dangerous. The beach is very steep and the surf is unrelenting, even when the waves don't look high. Please Google "Makena Beach accidents" to see what I mean. Yes, visit, but stay out of the water. Really.

Hidden Little Gem

This beach is really sweet, lots of walking, great swimming, waves are present but you can walk out a bit and swim in shallow water.
