Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe and Snorkel Adventure
Reviewed August 9, 2013

We went out with Doug and Nathan this morning on their canoe outrigger! Unbelievable service and aloha spirit! These two guys paddled out for us as we enjoyed the wailea / makena sights and set anchored - that's when our adventure began! We didnt paddle this time and kicked back to enjoy our time in th e water. Where do I start? Awesome, clear, still, blue waters with bobbing turtles all around us - yes! Snorkeling around and seeing beautiful coral gardens and the local beautiful school of fish-check! Swimming around with turtles - one with 3 legs too - and spotting an awesome sting ray swimming by- amazing! The icing on the cake- we spotted two pods of dolphins and being in an outrigger canoe - we paddled alongside the dolphins without bothering these creatures (nor leaked any oil from motor propelled machines ) and dove in to swim with these beautiful awesome creatures!! We swam alongside and underneath them! How awesome was that ! Way too amazing! All because of these 2 guys who made it work! If you have a few adventures to choose from - this should be your first! We walked away smiling the whole time! I love this outfit! No frills, nothing to sell, easy going people and best of all - we didn't have to be crammed with 50 other people on the boat! Easy to get to- drive toward wailea, pass the Fairmont hotel, park at the free Polo Beach
lot ( which also has a shower and bathroom access to use after) and walk down to the beach - your adventure awaits you! Guys we are coming back!

I booked this based on a T.A. Review. We were not disappointed. Just the 2 of us and our paddlers. We saw Sea Turtles. Snorkelled and relaxed. Great way to spend 2 hours in Wailea.

Perfect for adventurers and non-adventurers to do together...

I have lived on Maui for several years and this is the Tour that I take EVERY guest that visits me on! We sail, snorkel... have seen countless whales and turtles... and it is quiet. Just the wind and the ocean... No motors or diesel fuel. The tours are small and intimate only (less than 10) and Sage has an amazing amount of knowledge about the Hawaiian Culture that he will share with you as well...

It was particularly great when I had the "Whole Family" here... Young and Old... The older folks did some power lounging on the trampoline of the Canoe while the kids jumped in and snorkeled swam with turtles and Sage even showed them an Octopus! I highly recommend this if you have Grandma and Grandpa as well as kids around and all want to do something cool together. Even they said this tour was the highlight of their Maui Trip! PS... they do all the paddling if needed or you Sail... How cool is that?

Great Guides, great company... Awesome Trip... Every time.

We really enjoyed our sailing canoe and snorkeling trip around Wailea. It was neat to learn more about the Hawaiian sailing canoes and how they were used. Sage was a great guide and took pictures throughout the trip, which was nice because we didn't have a waterproof camera that we could take with us. Highly recommend booking a trip with Sage when in Maui!

We had a nice time sailing around the Wailea area of Maui. It was fun to get out on the open ocean and see how ancient Hawaiians sailed around the islands. The sea was choppy the day we went and the snorkeling was a little cloudy, but we had a great time anyway.
