Description: Hawaii's first and only Relais & Chateaux restaurant, The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea offers a European-inspired elegance infused with creative island-to-table cuisine. Menus are created around what is readily available from Maui’s own farms and fisherman ensuring that each dish is prepared using only the finest local, seasonal and artisanal products; including those grown in the restaurant’s own garden and farming operation. From its perch on the hillside above South Maui's Wailea resort area, the restaurant offers sweeping panoramic ocean views from the upper lanai and intimate dining under the stars in the garden.

Nice spot off the beach with great views. Food is good, service is better. The wedding reception space is directly below the restaurant. The bass thumping for two hours can be a distraction. Ask and don't go if there Is a wedding.

We were staying at Hotel Wailea and were pleasantly surprised by the onsite restaurant, which has wonderful atmosphere and an amazing view with outdoor dining. We reserved a table early enough to enjoy sunset and I highly recommend that you ask to be seated on the upstairs patio. We found the service to be top notch with our waiter being very attentive and the manager checking on us after accommodating a gluten free need for my husband. The prices are high, but I normally can deal with high prices if the food and service are better than good. In this case, they were great! I only wish that they also opened for breakfast service!

We came for the view and stayed for the food. Have eaten here twice in the last two trips to Maui and couldn't be happier. Come about 1/2 hour before sunset. The restaurant is out on a lanai (porch outdoors) and the view of the water, West Maui and even little Molokini is amazing. For once, the food fits the view. The chefs have a bunch of top restaurants they have worked at, and they cook like it. While there is certainly Italian food on the menu, there is a wide variety of options from local fish to outstanding meats in teriffic preparations. Lots of local ingredients used, many from their own farm. EVen in you're not in the Wailea area, this is worth the trip

The food is very good and it shows the good training and skills of the chefs. Service was very nice and we enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere. A few entrees are reasonably priced but most were near or above $50. Our caprese salad was $17 and very small but tasty. They do offer a tasting menu at $100/person. This is a special treat place!

Ate here for dinner one night during our stay at Hotel Wailea. The location is good-the restaurant is on a partially open terrace with ocean views. Service was fast enough but annoying. With the exception of the desserts, which were great, the food was mediocre especially considering the premium price.
