Description: Hawaii's first and only Relais & Chateaux restaurant, The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea offers a European-inspired elegance infused with creative island-to-table cuisine. Menus are created around what is readily available from Maui’s own farms and fisherman ensuring that each dish is prepared using only the finest local, seasonal and artisanal products; including those grown in the restaurant’s own garden and farming operation. From its perch on the hillside above South Maui's Wailea resort area, the restaurant offers sweeping panoramic ocean views from the upper lanai and intimate dining under the stars in the garden.

The only restaurant in the resort(proclaimed best Italian on the island) is horribly slow and staffed by teenage-looking waiters. Took 15 min more to get seated from our promised time and still the kitchen was overwhelmed. It wasn't even full. People were getting up with such a long wait between courses. Ridiculous prices for nothing special. Thank god we were staying there, or it really wouldn't have been worth the trip. Don't go. At most have a drink at the outside bar and watch the sunset.

My husband and I held our wedding reception here a couple of weeks ago. Not being Maui locals, I must say I was nervous about selecting a venue for such a special occasion site unseen, but I must say we absolutely hit the jackpot with Capische and could not have been happier with it!
Our small-ish party dined in the Il Teatro section, chosen initially so we could avail ourselves of the private room. What an unexpected bonus, then, to find just how special this dining experience proved to be! Chef Chris prepared several courses right in front of us in what was truly a theatre-like experience, and yet at no time did this show ever overshadow the occasion. The food was delicious and certainly held up to a fine dining standard. Each course was distinct and the local touch was lovely. Chef also went out of his way to accommodate our guests with allergies and those with particular tastes. Timing was perfect and the staff worked beautifully around our break for speeches and toasts.
In what was a finishing touch that went even further beyond our expectations, we were provided with exclusive use of the upstairs bar and lounge area, complete with a pianist which perfected the atmosphere. We were also particularly impressed with the selection of wines which accompanied the meals and very much appreciated the staff providing the unfinished bottles for our guests to enjoy after the dinner. In terms of value for money, this was a very pleasant surprise.
All in all, this was such a lovely experience that my husband and I returned a few days later (warmly welcomed and remembered by the staff) to enjoy it again and reminisce. We will certainly be returning next time we visit Maui.

From our arrival to the restaurant the server took great care of us, recommending us cocktails to start and the wine for our main course, we got a great table. The food was amazing, fresh, tasty and presentation was great. At the end of our dinner Chef came to greet us and explained how is specials were based on the plants he grows on the garden, simply amazing.
Deserts were flavorful and at the end we were super full but it was worth it, we just could not leave anything on our plate!!

This place is overrated . Once you look past the atmosphere you are left with a mediocre meal at an overpriced rate. We started off dinner with warm bread that was a week old. The martinis were watered down. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and were told this place would not disappoint. Let's just say it did. We ordered the risotto for the appetizer and it was delicious. For dinner we both got the seafood pasta. It was small and not much pasta , more like a stew . Dessert was very limited so we went back to one of our favorite restaurants " spago" and ordered dessert and coffee there. There are better restaurants on the island that will give you the atmosphere, service, an quality food you are looking for. You can go anywhere and drop 200 bucks just don't do it here. Like I said I've had better!

Our group of 9 went on a Saturday night for a 7pm reservation. We arrived at 6:45 so decided to have drinks before being seated. Hostess said for us to let her know when we were ready to be seated. At 7:05 we did just that, 7:30 we were seated at the most amazing table outside. The spot was perfect for our first dinner in Maui.
The service was slow but friendly. Once we notified the server that we need to leave by 9:15 he stepped up his routine.
The food was very, very good. Expensive dinner but very nice for our special event.
