“Great resort on a perfect beach”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Amazing pools. Main reason to come here, plus the beach is perfect. Waves Not to rough, not too weak.
Off season so rates were lower but pools still very crowded, I would never want to stay during peak season.
Valet sucks- tbey scratched up our rental pretty bad

I really loved the beach at Wailea!! The hotel is beachfront but from your room you need to go through the hotel pools and gardens to get to the beach. I thought that was not comfortable or nice! The service was extremely corteous! That was really good! The Hawaiian Shows around Wailea were right there, at your fingertips. The rooms could use an update, though!

Room Tip: Get a room that is nearer to the beach

The staff at the hotel and restaurants are wonderful, accommodating and gracious. No one goes to Hawaii to sit in their room but we expected better. The room walls had holes. In addition to the holes, the walls and furniture were dinged, scuffed and looked old. The bed had a noticeable peak in it that the down mattress pad could not hide. I can say the grounds are beautiful. I don't mind paying for luxury accomodations but this was a huge dissappointment.

Have stayed here three times and always love it. It is relatively close to the airport and the valet staff is friendly and efficient. Check-in was a little slow but there were lots of people around. The bellman was energetic and outgoing. Made several suggestions on things to do.
Our guest room was spacious and looked out over the ocean. The bathroom is large and well designed. The closet had ample space for my wife's clothes.
The pool area is fantastic. Several slides, twists, turns, and a rope swing. Not to mention the swim up bar for adults. The water elevator is nice for your kids. Having to wear a plastic bracelet a bit much. Beach access is very easy and a long strip is available for walking.
Our floor had club service. A nice mixture of food each morning, with wine, beer, etc. available in the afternoon. Very nice. Used the gym once for a quick game of basketball.
The banquet service was very good. They handled very large crowds for two lunches and a dinner with ease. Our food was always warm when served and very quick for the size of the group.
The food outlets were okay but not great. Was nice to have televisions available for games and the wi-fi service was good. Television stations in the room were adequate for being in Hawaii.
I usually try to remember the names of the staff, but they all just seemed to blend in and do their jobs. Nothing spectacular but not the annoy pretend service (for tips) either.
Would definitely return.

I tried hard to find a review of this and could not so hope this is helpful. If you have stayed at other club rooms at Four Seasons or Ritz this is no where close to the same. Breakfast is the same roles and fruits every day with a hot dish of some types of eggs you won't want to eat or a pancake type of thing. For PM you will get cheese cubes and some fried choice like a chicken wing. Should you stay during busy season there will be lines, limited food and limited tables. The advertisement of multiple clubs was not available during our holiday visit. Concierge on club level leaves a lot to be desired examples, asked about new restaurant at Hotel AndAz told never heard of it, asked to arrange for a driver told wasn't what they did, asked to arrange for an anniversary breakfast was told to arrange with room service myself....found the lobby concierge however amazing everything we wanted to book they happily did, perhaps club level is training ground.

For rest of stay this hotel is a machine high volume is what hey are good at. They have, in my opinion, the best pool in the world and that is their money maker. If you are looking for great service and personal experience this is not the place, if you are looming for the pool this is the best there is.

We were here during off peak and on peak wow service changes. Turn down off peak ice in the bucket music on very nice, tonight is peak no sheets on the kids sofa bed, no ice, no music and old towels on the floor.

Time to visit is off peak. Should you be forced to visit peak book your cabana and dining well ahead of time. Finally don't spend the extra $$ for Napua unless that free drink means a lot to you simply no value there.

Room Tip: Ocean vies

Cons: The check-in time is late, 3pm, and the room is not guaranteed until 4:30pm. They do not have early check-in. Construction was not finished on the adult pool, be sure to ask about construction during your stay. Pros: Beautiful grounds, great beach access, amenities are top notch, and everyone is so friendly!

A property this big takes a day or two to get used to but the staff helped us get beach front chairs, pool seats, directions and any time we needed our jeep, they had water for two ready to do when it pulled around. Made famous in the movie "Just go with it" our time there was inspired by both the movie and the awesome surroundings. We made use of the pool, ocean, bars and our room, an ocean front room, was terrific. We ordered room service a few times and the drinks and food were great. Our heart goes out to the staff for our stay in early December 2012 as part of a larger Hawaii stay. We stayed on points through the Hilton program and we would love to go back (although that means another 465,000 points we would need). Everyone needs to check out this hotel and check it off the bucket list.

Room Tip: While in Maui make sure you hit up the local spots like Da Kitchen and get up early one night and ta...
