Great family Hotel. Stay every year and every time more amazed by the Staff and Food. Luxury Hotel with no need to dress up. I recommend this place to everybody! You must go visit Chef Mike Lofaro at Hummuh Restaurant... Very creative and tasty Food. Christoph Bader, Los Angeles CA

The Grand Wailea was a step above all other hotels that we stayed at in the past. What can I say......luxurious, immaculate grounds and rooms, great food, world class Spa and great customer attention. From the moment we arrived to the sad goodbye, everything was perfect. If you want a luxurious get away, this is the place. Maui is by far the most scenic of all the Hawaiian islands. Lots to see and do. We were not disappointed.

Just returned from a stay at the Grand Wailea. We had a fabulous time. The room was very spacious with a large lanai and ocean view including great sunsets. The grounds are gorgeous. The open air lobby is absolutely beautiful especially in the afternoon when the sun shines in.

We were there in September after the high season so we did not have any issues with getting chairs around any of the pools as others have mentioned in reviews. We were disappointed the Hibiscus Pool was closed for retiling. I thought it would cause over crowding at the other pools but that was not the case.

The Canyon Pool was a blast, who said water slides are just for kids. The sand on Wailea Beach is amazingly soft. The waves are calm and ripples into the shore so its great for swimming with little ones.

The food is pricy at the hotel but we got sandwiches and bagels from the Wailea shopping center just up the street. The room has a refrigerator so no problem with items that needed refrigeration.

The location is beautiful, set just back of the gorgeous beach at Wailea. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was top notch. If you get a chance by all means try out the Sunday brunch buffet.

You won't find a better swimming pool setup and access to the beach is very easy.

That being said, all of this comes with a price and that price is very, very, expensive. If you want to save a little on you meals either walk to the restaurants at the nearby Shops at Wailea, or make the 10 minute drive into nearby Kihei.

Room Tip: It's a personal choice, but I wouldn't pay the additional cost for an upgrade to a view room...

I was here on a sales incentive reward trip. It has a beautiful location right on the ocean. Within about half mile stretch is the grand wailea, the fairmont, a Marriott and the four seasons. As such, there are a lot of people around..all the time. The grand wailea is a massive place and very kid oriented. So, if other people's kids are not for you, the pool area is pretty much a no-go zone. In their defense, the rest of the property is so large and spread out you don't feel crowded. Room was fine..nothing special. The spa is incredible...one of the best I have ever been to. They also have excellent spin classes etc.

Stayed here for 4 days with my mom in September 2013. It's a beautiful place with some great amenities, really high class. The building itself is huge and grandiose. There are no shortage of staff to help you during your stay, either. On Saturday night there was a great order taker in the Kula Cafe- super helpful and friendly. It's like she was your best friend even though you just met. One elder waitress in the mornings was so nice- she reminded me of my grandma. Great service overall.

Buffet Breakfast- very expensive ($30 pp) but has a great variety if foods including an omelette station, local foods, traditional western, hot, cold, whatever you want.

Pools- not too busy and could always get a good seat. No problems with this in September.

Towels- no shortage of these, either.

Location- 5 minute walk to the Shops at Wailea and right on a beautiful beach.

Beach- white sand beach without a piece of coral or even seaweed. I even had a turtle swim by to say hi.

One note- please don't have housekeepers knock on the door at 8 AM.

The grounds are absolutely fabulous!

Final note- this place is huge and you will get lost in the labyrinth (aka building). Bring a map.

Another mass tourist trap. The hotel grounds were almost too extensive. Pool and beach areas are crowded, note that the beach in front of the hotel is public as are all the beaches in Hawaii. Good alternative to the outrageously overpriced hotel restaurants are just 10 min walk away. Look for the stairs between the parking hall and the fake waterfalls to get to the next door shopping mall with plenty of restaurants to choose from. We did love the room though.
