Went here for lunch today. Seated quickly to a table right under the air vent and it was freezing! Waitress finally moved us after 15 mins.
Took 20 minutes to get our order - kids burger with fries & sliders with fries! And it wasn't that busy either.
Food was okay - kids burger had way too much mustard - it was dripping off. Sliders barely had any sauce so were almost dry.
Best part - kids ate free.
If I go again - I'll go through drive-thru for faster service.

I've eaten at several Steak N' Shakes nationwide and this location gets it right, every time.

The shakes and malts are wonderful, living up to the Steak N' Shake standard (though not quite up to my favorite quick service malt, the one available from Johnny Rocket's.) The burgers are as tasty as can be found at any other Steak N' Shake and are a personal preference, and the fries are the best thin shoestring-style fries to be found.

Service can vary a bit depending on how busy the restaurant is - but that's to be expected. Many of the poor reviews here seem to be from times and dates when they were especially busy, and I challenge any fast food/quick service restaurant other than In-N-Out to shine under those conditions.

Steak N' Shake may not be your cup of tea, but it's certainly a wonderful location that lives up to the Steak N' Shakes I've visited in the midwest.

It's just a pity this location isn't open 24 hours like many of the midwest locations are.

Shakes do not have a rich, creamy flavor like something made with ice cream should - they tasted sweet and icy with flat flavor. Food is absolutely sub-par and a little sad.
I recommend Good Times if you want a good shake and a steak house if you want a steak :)

A Steak and Shake out west is fantastic. We were in Denver last year and found this at the time the only one. It was packed solid and the drive through was around the block at 7pm. The service was terrible but we put it down to a new place that was just under prepared. Went back yesterday when we passed through Denver again this time it was 930am. There were seven tables being used. We ordered and waited almost 30 minutes before our food came out. We even asked where is was and were told the kitchen was short staffed. When it came out they said it was there fault for not being prepared to make lunch items as well as breakfast. We ordered shakes to go and my fav Royale.. Again a long wait so we ended up standing at the counter to see if that helped. A table behind us must have ordered something to go and finally just told them forget it and left. When we finally got out order the girl working the register said the Royale was free for the wait. Then said never mind its all free as she hit the wrong button and zeroed out the register. I told her just re-enter it all again. She said it could not be done. So I told her to add the table in again from scratch and we can pay. She said it was her fault so not to worry. So tuff to review... The food was great and the usual value for money is excellent. The shakes are fantastic but busy or slow they just can not cope.

The burgers are ok, the shakes are pretty tasty, The chili 5-way is what I go for. It is a classic of the Ohio, Illinois area. Spaghetti is topped with tomato sauce, chili, meat, cheese, and onions. Sprinkle on a bit of tobasco vinegar and eat with oyster crackers. Very good stuff. Note that it is from a specific region. Thus the chili is not verde, texas, con carne, .... it is skyline style. No beans, not tomato based, rather it made with and has a chocolate accent. Weird you say? yea, but give it a try.
