The tour consists of a one hour rowboat-tour. During that you can see flamingos and pelicans very close. But you have to come early because there are no tours in the afternoon due to strong wind and heat. The beach of Rancho Luna is only a few minutes away so you should combine this with the tour at the lagoon.

you need to arrive early as it closes around mid day. we managed to see the birds but you dont get close enough to take decent photos. Only out on the boat for about 30 mins. Glad I went but I wouldnt rush to go again
They did ask for passports on arrival. We didnt have ours but still allowed on the boat

We were lucky enough to be in Cienfuegos just at the right time to see some flamingos - end of November. We arrived at 8am in the morning to make the first your of the day. There was a bit of waiting around but we were happy since the surroundings were nice and the weather was good. We saw herons and pelicans on the lake as well. Our guide was very knowledgeable. In all the tour was about 2 hours.

thinking of finding a paradise, it was just a boat ride on a green lake, very poor fauna, they blamed the hurricane but Ok, then close the place and wait until it is visitable again , did not like it, dont recomend it

Pink flamingos come in winter so I didn't see any, but I still had a great time. I got there at 8am for the 8:30 tour. Since it was off season, there was no line. $10 admission for a boat tour of the bay/lake. It was so quiet and peaceful. It transcends time. We saw pelicans, vultures, crabs, and other small birds. The guide took me inside the mangrove, and that was one of the most memorable moments of this trip. I hope to return during the flamingo season one day.
