Went for a group meal here and had a very delicious meal. The starter was a soup followed by salad. Then for main course I had the prawns in a tomato sauce that was very good. For pudding it was a simple ice cream. The service was good and overall a very nice meal.

We came here 2 of the 3 nights we stayed in Cienfuegos and would have come back the 3rd except we had promised our Casa that we'd eat there.

It's located a short way off the main drag so is a bit quieter than many other restaurants. The atmosphere was nice, the service impeccable, and the menu interesting and surprisingly affordable.

We didn't like everything we tried. When we ordered the brochettes mentioned by one of the other diners, the presentation was amazing, but the brochettes were cold, and we were sure the meat and seafood had been pre-cooked elsewhere then put onto the skewers, rather than grilled on the skewers themselves.

But that was the exception -- we enjoyed all the other food, even the fried rice, the closest thing to Chinese food we had on our trip.

As for cost, I think we spent $14 CUC one night and $10 the next, including tip and a couple of beers.

For lunch, we wanted something off of Punta Gorda and not too close to Jose Marti Parque, to get away from all the tourists. So, we took a recommendation of a locally owned paladar called Florida Blanca 18. With a front dining room for about 20 and private area for intimate dinners of 10, the location was great.
Sergio and his team offered a great seafood selection including lobster, fresh pargo, and shrimp. I had a plate of grilled pargo fish with arroz congri. To wash everything down, I would recommend nothing other than a cold Crystal or mojito.

The restaurant is on 38th Street, half a block East of the Malecon just where it turns into the Prado (both are names for different parts of 37th Avenue. We had delicious brochettes, mine of mixed seafood with fish, shrimp and rock lobster. My wife's was mixed pork and chicken. Each meal had 4 skewers, one being grilled vegetables. The meal came with a small salad, fried banana chips (viandas) and we ordered rice and beans. The portions were very generous, and the whole meal including tip was under $15.

We decided to eat at this restaurant on the recommendation of a local from Cienfuegos. The day we visited happened to be Valentine's Day and the restaurant was already quite bustling by the time we arrived - always a good sign! The menu is varied and features typical Cuban fare - chicken, pork, fish, lobster, shrimp and also beef. The signature dish is shish-ke-bab. My partner ordered this and I ordered the fish. Both turned out to be excellent choices. The shish-ke-bab was amazing! Four skewers with an assortment of chicken, pork, lobster, shrimp and plenty of bright colourful vegetables came suspended on a type of carousel. The presentation was quite unique and appetizing. The fish was also amazing. Quite a large portion but very thin and tender. It was breaded and fried with spices and came topped with shallots. I mention this because sometimes the food in Cuba can be pretty bland but this was definitely not. Both orders were accompanied with a handful of homemade potato chips and vegetables - delicious! We also ordered beans and rice as well as salad which came with lettuce - a treat in Cuba! The chef personally came out of the kitchen to chat and see how diners were enjoying their meals. The restaurant also had a fairly good selection of wines. The wait staff were quite attentive and friendly even though they were quite busy on the night we were there. We had two large dinners, 4 glasses of wine, coffees and one dessert for under $20.00 CUC
This restaurant is located on a side street off the main avenue just before it heads out towards Punta Gorda. It is a smaller restaurant but obviously one worth the wait since there was a line-up waiting to get in as we left. If we are ever in Cienfuegos again, we will be returning to this restaurant for sure. It was a surprising and pleasant find with a nice local atmosphere and amazing food.
