We stayed with Michel and Lilia for 4 nights. They were extremely helpful in arranging trips for us to the nearby sights - Rancho Luna, El Nicho and Che Guevara's mausoleum in Santa Clara (1hr drive). Michel speaks fluent English and Lilia will make your stay comfortable with her cheerful and kind personality. They are extremely hospitable and enjoy peoples company. Food wise, the meals are plentiful! Cienfuegos is a small town and the Casa is located in a central area - walking distance to main street and a longer but lovely walk out to the point.

We spent two wonderful days at this nicely renovated and well-kept colonial-style casa. Lilia and Michel were the most gracious and amiable hosts you can think of. They provided us with information about the city and its sights and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable without ever being obtrusive. The two rooms (one with a double-bed, the other with two separate beds) have AC, fans and bathroom. The casa is located just a short walking distance from the central square. Michel speaks some English and is learning a little German. He cooked some of the best food we had in Cuba. We had very interesting and open conversations with both of them and learned a lot about the country and everyday life in Cuba. It was such a pleasure to stay with them, we felt like leaving old friends when we continued on our journey.

Lilia and Michel welcome you into your home and you very quickly become part of the family.
Michel speaks english and is able to arrange trips and onward accomodation which we found very useful.
The food is excellent.
Lily helped no end with my spanish and we happily spent one afternoon at the casa just chatting and finding out more about Cuba and the cuban way of life.
We would have liked to have stayed for much longer and I feel we have made real friends.
