The restaurant os surrounded by exotic trees and birds. The menu includes many Cuban dishes. They serve many tropical fruits like guavas and orange. We had the chicken, it was very tasty. The waterfalls are just amazing, the nature is really exhuberant and wild.

Great day in a small group (4 of us), with Hector, a previous English teacher in Cienfuego. Good insight on local life and living conditions. Very accommodating, friendly, and flexible on custom tour including the waterfalls. Hector realized unreliability of cruise lines and waited for our custom tour, despite being 2 1/2 hours later than planned!

You will be charged $10 to get in. It is a short hike, but it is CROWDED with locals and large tour groups. People were swimming, but as there is no place to change, anything goes... There was a cave like area where people changed, but there was glass, used condoms and tampons and even a BM in there. It was gross. The falls themselves were pretty. You can hike beyond to a very pretty outlook, then your guide may ask you if you want to go see some caves. For this, you have to enter a closed off portion of the park, but it's all a scam.... for a few dollars, there are guides waiting to take you. Again in is a short hike, but away from the crowds to a limestone cave with stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, and soda straws. You can hear a stream running through it deep with in and a few bats. Sadly, as all the surfaces are being tread upon and touched, this beautiful gem will be destroyed.....

El Nicho is located between Cienfuegos and Trininad. The price is 10 CUC and the round trip takes circa 2 hours. The second waterfall was great too, because you could swim there. The water was cold, even so we swam there.

It was a unique experience, I love nature and this place occupies a very important place in my travel itineraries around the island, the ecosystem is perfect for all visitors who want to relax between waterfalls and natural pools.

The waterfalls El Nicho were even more beautiful than what saw in the pictures. They are not too far from the entrance of the park. We also ate at the restaurant there is called Helechos. They serve traditional food, they have fresh fruit and vegetables that are grown in the mountains, all organic. They serve the traditional rice and beans called congri, they also have chicken or pork. We loved the place, it is a good choice if you go there.

Escape the humidity and heat and take the 6 hours tour by truck from Trinidad.
Nice drive and refreshing 4 Km walk along the river, combined with awimming and jumping to the water.

Great place to visit for the views, the hike, and swimming in a clear clean pool under the waterfall.

Probably best waterfall I have seen. There are 2 parts, one and accessible with guide. You can swim in water above the waterfalls, but the place is usually crowded.
The other is accessible just with ticket, in this part, you will got to base level of a wonderful cascade with several basins and few small waterfalls. Some basins are deep enough to jump into the water and swim. To access these basins, you will need to crawl up on stones, but the experience is definitely worth it.

we were hesitating whether taking this tour was a great idea for our journey from Trinidad to Cienfuegos, the lady in the house recommended we do El nicho then go to Trinidad, it was tricky to find because roads in Cuba are not well indicated, entrance fee is 10 CU per person and there was a local guide, but they were attending a larger group and we decided to discover on our own, we should have had requested the lunch on the way up , when we came down there was a big group of tourist and it was too late for us to get a meal there, somebody at the park pointed us to a local paladar, el guajiro, wow, great choice, primitive but good. too bad we did not bring a towel
