The park at the tip of Punta Gorda offers access to the water, a tranquil and shady area for relaxing, and some killer mojitos (cheap too) at the little cabana bar. Most of the quaint, smallish houses on the road to the park are B&Bs that look to be in very good condition (these became legal in Cuba in 2010). There is also the Dolphin Hotel; its Lizard Villa restaurant is right on the water and the food is very tasty. A little further back is the replica Moorish castle built as a casino by Bautista's brother before the 1959 revolution. The rooftop bar is an ideal sunset-watching location. A couple more on-the-water restaurants, including the enjoyable Casa Verde, line the road on the other side as you begin heading back into Cienfuegos.
