Great views from rooms. Rooms decent size and adequate. Breakfast buffet not great. Beds could be better. Location near several good restaurants. Took awhile to figure out the airconditioning and blankets a bit on the dirty side.Rest of room clean.

We had a reasonable sized room on the first floor on a half board basis.
Hot water was never an issue here.
Plenty of room around the pleasantly laid out pool area which runs down to the sea - no problem getting a bed.
Food in the buffet was of reasonable quality & selection with bacon at breakfast ususally available. As ever in Cuba things could be a bit erratic - one day three cooks serving eggs, the next only one. Coffee generally good although the machines seemed to malfunction on occasions & serve half strength coffee.
Drinks were expensive for outside of Havana - Chilean wine at 25 CUCs a bottle although there was a happy hour in the pool bar.
There was a shop across the road selling bottled water much cheaper tha the hotel. Also across the road was a low cost open terrace bar across the road which could be a bit windy although we were able to migrate into an enclosed area.

Stayed here for one night as part of a tour group. Nice and clean. Nothing to complain about really, but also nothing extra. The buffé was far from the best we had in Cuba, but still good enough. So by Cuban standards this hotel is above average!

Our room, food and service were all good. The hotel is rather blocky and stands out next to the replica of the Alhambra next door. The lobby area is lovely with good, original paintings and sculptures. The dining room is busy but well organised with food on 3 islands so no long waits. It is on a peninsular, not close to the town of Cienfuegos but there are always taxis and horse buggys outside. Walking alomg the sea front is not pleasant as it smells bad, this doesn't reach the hotel. The attracive town has beautiful architecture and is nicely laid out, but it is decaying, typical of the whole of Cuba.

We were with a group and stayed here for one night in January of 2013. We were told the hotel was very basic and the truth is, the rooms are..however, they are also clean and comfortable. The rooms had two full size beds with very simple furniture..no clocks in the hotels in Cuba but they did have a wake up call so that was good. The bathrooms have only what you need, but then, we always bring our own stuff..Now, the pool area is really nice, overlooks the water..there was a Salsa Dancing show at night at the pool..there was a bar with both inside and outside area with a band. The lobby was nice enough and although nothing really fancy, everyone wanted to stay longer, which we will do next time. I think this side trip to Cienfuegos was a delight, interesting things to do and an enjoyabe stay at the hotel..enjoy the square, the little kiosks filled with Cuban wood statues and gifts..it is just a lovely town too. Oh, and you can look out one side of the rooms and see the Ocean and the other side has a view of their harbor, lines with boats..lovely..

Room Tip: You will probably be woken by the roosters..anywhere your room is..

This hotel was supposed built by the Hilton Corporation in the 1950's but they never had a chance to run it due to the revolution. It is a so-so property. It is a place for large tour groups to stay. They have a restaurant and a bar. There is also a pool which no one in my group used. The restaurant has a large typical breakfast buffet that most tour groups seem to get as part of their stay. The rooms were ok but not great. This hotel is definitely showing its age and the maintenance has not been kept up the way we are used to in the United States. Several of the members of our tour group were quite fond of the band that played in the bar.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated such that all rooms have a view of the bay which is quite nice. I would stay a...

The rooms in this hotel served the purpose of having someplace to lay my head at night. Expectations should be lowered and you will be fine staying at this hotel. My room was clean and everything worked. It was just a bit dated for me and my standards, with the stark white interior and mildewy, musty, moldy, old odor in the room. When I would cut in the AC the smell was worst. Maybe an air freshener and or baking soda would help? My disinfectant spray did not help, but when I sprayed my mosquito repellant it seemed to work. The lobby is nice and breakfast buffet was decent. No oatmeal, that is all I wanted was oatmeal. The area/town of Cienfuegos is really nice.
