Incredible display. A must see when visiting Nova Scotia. Exhibits of the old days, guiding era, African animals, mounted animals, art, photography , sculptures - too many to list

This museum has lots and lots of stuff on a variety of topics. Eg one room focuses on taxidermy, another on photographs and yet another on outhouses. Each room is well done and full of interesting stuff. Not really any theme but eclectic. The outside houses are neglected a bit and could do with more explanation. The notices at the actual site might benefit from brighter and more obvious signs - we thought it was closed. Well worth a visit, however and very good value. Suggest takes about an hour to cover. Has steps so not all of it is suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Friendly staff are lovely.

What used to be the local high school has been transformed into a museum and cultural centre. Most of he collection was gathered by photographer Sherman Hines. He had broad interests which are reflected in the varied displays. Outside is an exact replica of the Maud Lewis house along with some examples of pioneer and trapper cabins. Well worth a visit.

Even in the rain, it's fun to explore the different types of places people lived. I loved the Maud Lewis House and the Trappers Cabin.

Located in a former high school, the Rossignol is an eclectic collection of just about anything. Each room had a different feature, for example, taxidermy, basket weaving, folk art, out houses (!). Worth a stop.
