“Nice Experience”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We found the hotel to be clean and well maintained. The staff was nice and friendly. We were planning on driving to Arizona but it was getting late so we decided to stop for the night. We were somewhat reluctant to stay at Ticaboo due to reading the previous review earlier in the day. We took a chance and asked to see a room and the desk girl could not have nicer. After inspection we checked in and found the entire property above satisfactory.
Better TV and less expensive gas would be nice but as my wife said, we are in a remote paradise and paradise has it price.
Simply beautiful area!

My family spent one night, just last week. Upon checking in, the front desk person left to check on our room, about 5 minutes later came down and said it was ready. We went into our room, my daughter went into the bathroom to use it only to find the toilet had not been flushed or cleaned from the occupants before us. After a talk with the front desk, someone soon came up and cleaned the mess. We had 2 queen beds in our room, upon turning down our beds to go to sleep, both beds had hair on the sheets. It wasn't our hair as we had just turned down the bedspreads. As it was late, we were tired from a long drive, we did the best we could to try to sleep and get out of there as soon as we could the next morning.
Many years ago I stayed one night at Ticaboo Lodge, before it closed down and opened under new management. That stay years ago was a pleasant one, this one was a nightmare. My family and I have been going to Lake Powell every year for 15 years, we usually stay at BullFrog Lodge, next year, I will spend the extra $100 to stay at BullFrog.

I spent 3 nights at the Ticaboo Resort and fell in love with the place! We had 2 deluxe rooms side by side and had a blast. The hotel is clean and the staff very helpful. It was the perfect location for a base camp and just a short distance to Bull Frog.
We enjoyed the pool and cook out area - 4 star. The restaurant on property was casual with good food, fun staff and family affordable!
Gas prices at the pump inside the resort are high but that is to be expected in such a remote area....(I had to remind my husband of that)
The resort has home sites for sale on the property at a price that seems like a steal. I am reluctant to write this due to not wanting my private oasis to be discovered and developed. Ticaboo/Lake Powell is truly one of the last great places in this country!

The Ticaboo lodge is locally run and has very friendly staff. The rooms are clean and tidy, reasonably sized and well appointed. Our fridge was poked and the 'guy' at the counter was onto it straight away and sorted it out with a new fridge.
Also gotta put in a good word for the Lokals Restaurant next door. Run by a very enthusiatic dude and he has the staff and food well sorted - low key but excels where it counts.
Overall a great base camp/rendezvous spot prior to an awesome holiday on Lake Powell.

Room Tip: Be nice to the receptionist ... ?

I have stayed there twice and have another reservation for October. It is very remote but so peaceful. Lokals is a great addition located next door and serves beer Yum.....

The staff is great and very accommodating with all your needs.

If you want to see the stars like you have never seen before don't miss this spot. Only minutes from lake powell and they rent boats and razors.

Room Tip: book the deluxe rooms they have been renovated.

We have stayed at Ticaboo many times and are always treated well by Kim and the staff. The rooms are large enough to accommodate a family of four. Nice to have the restaurant open again. We will stay there again. Mike G.

Just got home from our trip to Lake Powell, this hotel offered no customer service, the gal at the check in was rude on many occasions including at our check in,, our bed finally got made on the second day of our stay, ( I might add, it looked like it was done by a 3 year old ) We requested fresh towels on our second day.. we never got them,, no in room coffee, no soap in the soap dispenser, you have to pay for ice out of the ice machine, ( the ice machine on the second floor didn't work ), rude staff, uncomfortable bed and pillows, there was no bible in the room, no information book for the area, no phone book, power was off for a couple of hours, although we paid for it, I will say the room was clean, but, for the cost of this hotel it was definitely not worth it. Will go to Bullfrog or Page from now on.
