“Good food- A little slow service”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Phil is the co-owner of our Bed and Breakfast, so we were treated to a wonderful breakfast included in our accommodations. Only complaint was that Phil was burdened with serving many people for breakfast at the same time. Probably could have used more help in the kitchen, but worth the wait.

“Should be a destination”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Everything made on the premises, pastries breads, granola, muesli, evening specials. We had supper here and it was so good that we cancelled the breakfast part of our B & B and went back the next morning. It didn't disappoint! I had the only good cappuccino and smoothie on a 2 week trip in Newfoundland - not good, excellent!

“Unbelievable breakfast”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

Truly amazing meal! Probably the best breakfast I ever had! Linda and Philip were extremely accommodating and helpful. Every part of my meal was oustanding. Even something as simple as a fried egg was remarkable. Philip is a talented fellow, and you MUST check this place out if you are able to do so!

“Beautiful space, great owners, and incredible food!”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

Companion and I drove from St. John's to try out Philip's this past Sunday, and it was well worth the drive. The cafe is beautiful - very clean and bright. The owners are enthusiastic and charming, and provided some great suggestions for our post-meal hike. The food is simply remarkable. Best toutons we've ever eaten, without question. Breakfast sandwich and quiche options were both delicious, as were the muffins. The caramel pecan-encrusted banana loaf with French chocolate is extraordinarily rich (as you'd expect), but also ridiculously good. We can't wait to return!

“The best breakfast”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Philip's Cafe does the best breakfast we had in Newfoundland. Quite possibly the best anywhere. If that weren't enough, the staff are really friendly and have lots of tips on what to see and do in the area.
