I've stayed here several times before, but at this stay they were wrapping up an update to the rooms and I stayed in one of the newly updated rooms. It had new paint, carpet, linens, curtains and maybe some new bathroom fixtures. It was VERY clean and felt brand new. This is a huge plus since the last time I stayed there it was in need of this update. Staff if always friendly. Great location, ask for a room facing the river.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river - great view.

We were staying in Natchez as part of a mini vacation and to make use of the Natchez Trace Parkway. We had a King Room that was very spacious. The breakfast was a very good value with a nice selection. We asked for a late checkout and were allowed to check out at 1 pm. This allowed us to take a nice 22 mile bike ride on the Parkway and use the shower before checking out. All in all, a nice hotel in a good location.

We had a studio suite on the top floor which gives a good view of The Mississippi bridge, especially at night when it is lit up for a while, and also a good view of sunset. Staff were very welcoming and the room was exceptionally clean with good toiletries.
There was a good breakfast, but we found the beds a little uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Go for a studio suite - the higher the floor the better - we were in 402

My husband and I spent last night (May 26) at Hampton Inn- Natchez, MS and it was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed. The room was clean as it could be and so very quiet. The staff was so friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. We will stay here again for sure if we get the chance to go back to Natchez, MS. By the way, Natchez is a lovely town.

Natchez, Mississippi emerged from The Civil War with an astonishing number of antebellum homes intact. Many of these homes are open to the public for tours. Others are privately owned; many, along with several early reconstruction era homes, have been converted into charming B&B's.

Although the charm of Civil War era B&B was enticing, research on this and other sites led me to the conclusion that it was difficult to find a B&B that offered a room with two beds. That was a requirement for me and my traveling companion.

So, we compromised and booked a room for four nights at the Hampton Inn. We were quite happy with our choice. The hotel is across a relatively quiet street from "Ol' Man River" (Mississippi River) and the Natchez Visitor Center. If you are energetic, you can walk to the main tourist area from the hotel, or you can opt to save your energy for the walking tours and drive a mile where you will find ample free parking. For those itching to try their hand with Lady Luck, the Isle of Capri Casino Hotel is next door. From there you can get a shuttle to the Riverboat Casino.

This Hampton Inn appears to be relatively new. The room was large, comfortable, clean and well appointed. The complimentary buffet breakfast offered standard fare (beverages, cold cereals, oatmeal, toast and pastries, scrambled eggs, waffles, yogurt, fruit, etc) but the service and eating areas seemed cleaner and tidier than most of their type. An attentive staff kept up with restocking. A brown-bag breakfast was available at the front desk for the "sleep late, run and eat" crowd.

A pool, fitness center, and business center are all on the property. Wi-fi is free (and fast enough) in all the rooms and public areas. There is also a guest laundry. We did not use the pool or the fitness or business centers, so I cannot evaluate those. The guest laundry was standard, clean and did the job.

Natchez is a "once you have seen it, you have seen it all" kind of place, so it is unlikely that I will stay at this property again. However, based on this experience I would definitely consider Hampton Inns for future stays elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing east on the 4th floor. You will be treated to a great view of the Mississippi...

I usually rate Hampton Inns highly, but this one I cannot. The bed and bathroom were clean, although there was a urine smell in bathroom and carpet. We especially noticed while walking down hall on 2nd floor to find our room. We really should have changed rooms, but were too tired from driving. Hotels all have that discenfectant smell and lets face it, they all have carpets which are not shampoed often. Otherwise, dont get Rm 215. We used to check our rooms out first before doing the baggage drag and will go back to doing that now.
