A lovely setting in a very friendly old southern town within easy walk to the centre. The rooms were very comfy and it was a very reasonable price. The town itself was warm and friendly.Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is in a lovely position and is an impressive building. The beds were comfortable and the room facilities were good, plenty of hangers, ironing equipment, quality toiletries and pleasant furnishings.
Sadly the breakfast was a let down, no fresh fruit apart from a bowl of apples, no choice of pastries and very little variety of lot food. The room was very crowded and tables were not being cleared, we were forced to share and move chairs to seat ourselves.
Shame.

Room Tip: Make sure you are facing the river!!!!

When I booked this hotel, which promised views of the river, I was hoping I wouldn't be disappointed. We came to Natchez at the end of a week long tour of Civil War and historic sites in Tennessee and Mississippi, which is really my husband's passion a bit more than mine, but we had a wonderful trip. Seeing the Mississippi up close was at the top of my list. A year ago we had been in New Orleans and had a river view from the top of our hotel there. It sparked an interested in me to know more about the river and its long history.
We booked a king suite at the Natchez Grand, and we indeed had river views; it was a corner suite, and you could even watch the river from the bathroom! The hotel is directly across from a small park and a long walking path that goes along the cliff above the river. Just beautiful.
We booked for two nights, and for the most part it all went well. Upon arrival, the internet and cable went out on the same night of the NCAA basketball final, and there was momentary panic, but fortunately they got it back up before the game started. Being from Connecticut, we were pretty interested in the outcome. During the game we kept hearing loud pounding above us, almost as though people upstairs were playing basketball themselves. We were able to ignore it during the game, thinking for sure it would stop, but it did not. I went down to the desk to complain about 11 PM, as had others apparently. The hotel said they had no security during the week, only on the weekend. Wasn't too happy to hear about that. However somehow it was resolved by another employee, and the 2nd night it was blissfully quiet.
All in all it was a positive experience, and I got my river view for sure.

Room Tip: It is well worth it to book a king suite, if you are interested in seeing the river.

My wife and I picked this hotel at random while driving thru Natchez, and were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, the bed was great, the free breakfast in the morning was nice, and the location in the middle of down town, right on the river, was perfect.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the river.

As a travel agent, I spend 60 plus nights a year in hotels: 1-6 star properties. I know a four star and the Natchez Grand is NOT. The building is beautiful, and the location superb. The rooms are nice, but once you left the lobby, there was a smell of mildew in all the carpets. The rooms don't offer 4 star amenities and upgrades. The desk clerks are surly and rude: no smiles, no greetings, no pleasantries. They don't explain the resort fee, then become defensive when questioned. Although promised an AARP discount upon presentation of my card, the clerk who was on duty when I brought the card, would not honor the discount. Again, not in a friendly or apologetic way, they were curt and dismissive. The breakfast was hot, plentiful, and tasty. The dining room wasn't being bussed, and the beverage area and dishes weren't replenished. There are better choices in town for better prices. Under current management, it is a convention/tour bus hotel at best, not a 4 star property.

My husband and I stayed the weekend of March 29 2014. We were celebrating our 12 year wedding anniversary. I chose the Grand because last uear I attended a confetence for work and fell on love with the place. The desk clerks were nice and answered our questions about Natchez. Our river front view room was beautiful except the windows needed cleaning. We had plenty of super thick and soft towels, the bed was comfy and the 8.95 they added to our bill was worth the good breakfast. The hotel was close to the carriage ride, river, Old South Winery, the King's Tavern, and the African American Museum. The Grand Hotel is the place to stay.

Very pleased with our stay at this conveniently located hotel. We did book through hotel.com and got a better rate than if we had booked directly through hotel. Hotel was extremely clean. We always saw the staff cleaning throughout the day. Bed was very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly ( Anise Winding and Kydell Turner). We loved the hot breakfast, plenty to chose from. Staff even answered cheerfully checked with chef when I asked if certain dishes were gluten free. We stayed the last weekend of March, and loved it so much that we have booked another room for an upcoming weekend.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the river side, and you might be able to watch a river boat cruise the river.
