My husband brought me to Monmouth for a surprise get-away weekend! We arrived later than expected and were very hungry. So, we called the Monmouth a la carte restaurant, "1818," to see if dinner was still being served. The upscale restaurant was about to close, but elected to stay open JUST for us! The service was fabulous and very accommodating! Our room was amazingly ornate and the large bathroom was a great surprise. The complementary, sit-down breakfast at the Garden Room was delicious. Every building was historically beautiful and complemented the immaculate landscaping. Monmouth is also perfectly situated for quick driving to downtown Natchez. We had a wonderful time and truly felt like royalty! Every person at Monmouth was accommodating and helpful which made our weekend very special! We will definitely stay at Monmouth, again, soon!

If you can picture yourself in the bygone days of the old south, this beautiful Antebellum gem can make the dream come true. Period furnishings, gracious staff and delicious cusine complete the package for a memorable experience.

My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend (41 years) at Monmouth Plantation on August 8 & 9, 2009 and could not have been happier. Everyone associated with the Plantation was pleasant, courteous and very helpful. The suite we stayed in was beautiful and very comfortable. We had a bedroom, sitting room and a large bathroom with a spa tub. We had dinner that night at the 1818 Restaurant in the main house and it was fabulous. Our server was very friendly and helped us in making selections from the menu (The oyster BLT appetizer was especially delicious). As we were leaving dinner we reacquainted ourselves with the owners who happened to be in town, Ron & Lani Riches, who were, as always, very gracious. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast and then spent some time walking around the grounds and admiring the gardens. We started coming to Monmouth in the 80’s to celebrate our anniversary and have continued to come back every few years. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts throughout the country and Monmouth is still our favorite. We would both highly recommend it.

Arrived without any info on a business trip outing set up through the office. Really enjoyed it. Room, dinner, grounds, and lounge were all great. Wish I had been there on a leisure trip with my wife. Will try to make that happen in the future. Highly recommend this B&B. It is majestic and beautiful yet extremely comfortable.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had gone back in time, but with all the modern conveniences. The Plantation is exquisitely decorated, and the grounds are truly amazing. It is so well manicured, and preserved that you feel like royalty staying there. They pay attention to details, like the turn down service at night, which includes a chocolate left on the pillow and also a fully stocked bathroom with all the accoutrements you may need. This sets Monmouth apart and enhances the travel experience. Their restaurant is fantastic as well, and you can't beat the setting, which is located in the downstairs part of the fully restored Plantation. It was an amazing trip.
