Stayed here recently for 2 days. Our host, Joe Stone, couldn't have been more gracious or helpful. He's refurbished this family homestead balancing a sensitivity to history with assuring comfortable beds and a warm atmosphere. Everywhere you look there are interesting maps, furniture and small decorations. Joe is an excellent cook so the hot breakfast is delicious and served on antique Limoges and Coin Silver. Joe was also very helpful with directions and reviews on places to eat in town. The location is wonderful and safe. We walked to dinner and then wandered the neighborhood afterward.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Main Bedroom, very private and spacious

Natchez is a quiet city and we lucked into staying in the Guest Cottage of the house. The owner, Joseph was there to provide historical I site into his family home. So much history! As well we were entertained with a piano soirée one evening. Breakfasts were delightful and served on and with antique pieces. Not just for show. Thank you Joseph for opening your home to us and sharing your ancesters' history. Easy walk through downtown.

Room Tip: Only two rooms. One in the house and the Guest Cottage beside the house. Both are lovely. But the Gu...

I stayed at the J.N. Stone House for two days on a recent trip to the south viewing architecture and culture in the lower Mississippi Valley. My experience was wonderful. Our host was very gracious and attentive, welcomes us each morning with a delightful smile and "Southern " breakfast. His service is over the top, plates are Limoge, real silver even a silver bread and biscuit warmer! The house is very well situated to all the historic sites in and around Natchez. I walked to the riverfront and partook in a local chili festival. Other grand houses are a short distance from the Stone House.

We loved this place! The beautifully furnished cottage was perfect for a getaway / reunion spot for my sister and I. Our host could not have been more gracious and welcoming. My two children who also came along loved the delicious breakfast served in the beautiful dining room with gorgeous place settings. Mr. Stone was extremely accommodating pertaining to the children also staying there and we can't wait to return!

Natchez is a great place to visit and there are many choices for places to stay but hands down The Stone House is the only one worth staying at. If you are fan of history, classic charm, wonderful food, and impeccable service, this is the place for you. The owner, Joe Stone, helped make our anniversary a wonderful experience. If you are there for his weekly piano concerts, be sure not to miss it. We will be back, thank you.

Great home with a very gracious host. Loved hearing the home & family history. Wonderful antique furniture and maps in the home. Wish we could have enjoyed the musical performance but we had a wedding to attend. We'll just have to come back and visit again!

Folks who prefer B&Bs over hotels generally place great value on lodging experiences that can only be made possible by gracious and efficient hosts. Those who are looking forward to a wonderful stay in Natchez should seriously consider Stone House B&B. Joe Stone's touch makes Stone House unique and memorable. He is not only offering lodging to his guests, he is sharing with them his home, his family anecdotes, his considerable knowledge of Natchez and Civil War history, his love of antiques and his passion for music. My husband and I stayed there last August during a two-month cross country road trip. Better late than never... our extraordinary lodging experience in Natchez compels me to write this belated review. It is not very often that we find fortune like this that is worth sharing.

Room Tip: The room in front is more sumptuous. The room in the back is more private.
