Stanton Hall is one of the homes open all year for visitors to enjoy, and is operated by the Pilgrimage Garden Club. It's massive scale dwarfs even some of the most lavish of the other "large" antebellum homes. I have toured this house with others before, but my most memorable visits have been during private events held in the evenings where the place sparkles to life and sumptuous fare is served to party guests. My favorite feature would have to be the chandeliers on the main floor which were salvaged from a steamboat. This happens to be an area of expertise for me, and I'm not going to give up trying to find out what boat they came off of...Be sure to have lunch at the Carriage House restaurant on the grounds. This is also one of the places at the top of your list for a visit to Natchez, if only to witness the enormous scale of such a fine house.
