The tour takes you back to the civil war and life during that time quite vividly. Gives you a realistic view. You can picture Grant coming down with his troops, trying to get across that mighty river it sits on.

Other than senior citizens it seems the mansion thing is a passing thing in our country. With the increase in cost to maintain these facilities, they are becoming less of a bargain. Well still worth a visit, the further we get from that period the less impact and relevance of the site.

I would go back just to walk around this historic home - incredible view of Mississippi River, live oaks, crepe myrtles, etc. surround this home with interesting history. Tour was definitely worth it!

My favorite thing to do while traveling is to visit the historical sites. Rosalie was a beautiful home with tones of history! There is a love story to be told there. The guide was very knowledgeable, and let the guest who knew how to play the piano take turns playing!

This mansion also called Our lady on the Bluff was built before the Civil War & during the war was Headquarters for the area.
The history of the families who lived here was interesting to hear about as were all the rooms we were taken into & had various objects explained to us. Beautiful furniture, china, carpets, table ware, paintings, photos, the children's playthings in their bedroom...everything was well preserved. The Library, Parlours, Dining Room, Bedrooms, Hallways told of a family lifestyle.

The grounds are spacious with lovely gardens & views of the Mississippi River below.
The Daughters of The American revolution now own & operate this Mansion.
A great place to visit.
