Wasn't impressed by either the service or the food here. Lots of staff seemingly hanging around chatting and playing on their phones and one waitress rushing around trying to look after all the customers. Food was nothing special.
Don't go on a Monday - it's closed!

After being referred to Magnolia Grill at the Natchez Visitor's Center, we were excited to find it right along side the Mississippi River. We went on a Sunday around 1 pm so decided to have our Sunday dinner here.

The setting is only matched by the menu, food selection and hospitality. The atmosphere is casual and very inviting. Both of us had the Magnolia Shrimp - Jumbo shrimp sautéed with mushrooms and green onions in a garlic butter sauce served over angel hair pasta. We had just visited New Orleans and Baton Rouge and had wonderful food there, but this dish far surpassed anything we have had.

We also enjoyed driving through Natchez. It is a quaint town with loads of history and antique shops, but almost everything was closed (being Sunday). We will return just to eat at the Magnolia Grill.

First: reserve table in advance if you do not want to wait.
The fried green tomatoes were quite good but try the fried zucchini: excellent.
I had the silver shrimps on penne and my wife the grilled shrimps with a baked potatoe. Go for the grilled shrimps, they were excellent.
The silver shrimps on penne were ok but (the usual American mistake) were drowned in a creamy sauce: less cream and less sauce would improve the dish significantly.

All the locals suggested this place and it filled up quickly with customers. Food was nothing to write home about. A good place for families.

We enjoyed our lunch at Magnolia Grill, even though our server wasn't all that interested. He didn't tell us that we could have eaten upstairs -- and we could have a good view of the Mississippi River! We ate downstairs, and we could still see the river, but it would have been better upstairs. We shared the oyster poboy, which was a special for that day, and it was very good; with plenty of oysters. The location "Under the Hill" is very cute, and I would go back again -- and request an upstairs table, LOL!
