“Beautiful choice for a relaxing lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I stayed at Dunleith mansion in Natchez several years ago and enjoyed it so much! On my most recent visit to Natchez, a "girlfriend getaway" with two friends, we enjoyed a delicious lunch of southern fried chicken at The Castle Restaurant on the grounds of Dunleith. Bothe the good and service were wonderful, and we were happy to hear that our receipts from lunch entitled us to a complimentary tour of the mansion and grounds! What a great deal since usually the mansions cost $15.00 each to
tour!

“Southern Exposure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

We enjoyed excellent service and superb food on a recent Monday evening. One of the evening's specials was flounder, and it was perfect. Everything was, really. And the molten chocolate dessert (you are urged to tell your server that you want it, at the time you order your entree, so as to ensure that they don't run out of this specialty dessert) was a rare treat.
The atmosphere here is that of an old-time Southern hunt club, with a warm, cozy feel.
TIP: Our waitress also provided us with complimentary tickets to tour Dunleith the next day, which is standard, apparently, and a nice touch. The only way you can tour Natchez's premier mansion is to either stay there or dine at The Castle.
All in all, an extremely worthwhile experience.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

I went there recently in January with 3 friends while attending a Church convention in Natchez. We made reservations and was promply seated. We first ordered drinks and I ordered merlot which came in a nice large wine glass filled half full. My friend commented to me on the "nice pour"! I ordered the Red Fish dish which was delicious. My friends order the filet that had a crawfish topping. They ordered it medium and i had a taste of it and oh it was cooked to perfection. Desert was cheese cake with chocolate and strawberry toppings. It was a huge piece for a desert. I cant wait to return !!

“Outstanding Evening Meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

We had an outstanding Valentine's Evening meal as part of our package while staying at Dunleith. The seafood was delicious, fresh and expertly prepared. The "sides" included the usual dishes but also some unusual, but very good, offerings. The mashed sweet potatoes were excellent. The desserts were superb! One suggestion: we each ordered a different salad. Only the two were offered. We did not like either. Maybe one choice should be a simple lettuce and veggie salad with a simple ranch or Italian dressing. The Ceasar had way too many anchovies IN the dressing. The other salad had delicious nut crunches, but the dressing was overpowering and the blue cheese crumbles too large.

The lack of five stars in our rating is b/c of a horrible experience at the Saturday morning buffet. Extremely non-attentive waitress,
Not revisiting our table once in all the time we were there. She actually walked routes that avoided our table! Half of the few buffet dishes were empty and we waited over half an hour for them to be re-filled. To be honest, it was no different than a continental breakfast at a Comfort Inn. The cost far, far outweighs any value, especially with the poor buffet service and even worse table
service. The breakfast buffet at Drury Inns is by far superior to this one, not to mention that never a dish is empty. We will never return for breakfast.

But, dinner was wonderful! Just don't go for breakfast.

“Wonderful evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

I strongly encourage anyone visiting Natchez to dine at this restaurant. The restaurant was not over crowded and unlike many restaurants we have visited lately, this one was not obnoxiously loud. The food was very good and the service quite friendly. Overall, it was wonderful, we really enjoyed the experience.
