The Castle is on the grounds of a remarkable antebellum home, Dunleith. The food was excellent; the tilapia was so good that I went back the next day and ordered it again. Try the fried green tomato appetizer and save room for the molten chocolate cake!

On our last night in Natchez we dined at The Castle at Dunleith Plantation which was recommended by our host at the elegant Riverside Bed and Breakfast. We were warmly welcomed and escorted to a romantic nook for two, overlooking the gaily lit swimming pool. The Castle with its crenelated roof top is furnished baronially with a great two-way fireplace and quiet Scottish plaid decor.

It was difficult to choose from the enticing menu. My husband opted for the world class roast duck with blackberry sauce, accompanied by sauteed asparagus over fried grits wedges. They prepared a beautiful vegetarian dinner for me with a mushroom spinach risotto topped with sauteed asparagus.

There are restaurants where the food looks good but doesn't taste good, but that is not the case with this restaurant. We have dined in many restaurants all over the world. The Castle at Dunleith ranks up there with the finest.

We booked an early table for two for diner at 6.30pm on a Sunday evening. We we visiting Natchez for one night and followed Trip Advisor's guidance on where to eat. To be honest the reviews didn't,t do this restaurant justice. Mark the maitre'd seated us in a lovely bay window location and later stop by to check if everything was satisfactory. He had a nice attentive style. Seth our waiter was on top of his game also and dealth very nicely with that curve ball that arose because the wine served was corked. The menu seemed heavily biased toward the seafood spectrum and as I don,t eat fish this was a minus for me but the dishes we chose did not disappoint: flash fried pork & salad for appetisers, and rib eye and duck for entrees. All cooked to perfection and served promptly. This is an elegant and friendly dining experience that should not be missed if visiting Natchez...and there is a pub down stairs as a bonus...happy days

We LOVE to eat the breakfast here. The building is absolutely beautiful and the food is truly divine. The dining area is very clean and bright in the mornings. It overlooks the pool in back. Worth every penny and more!
